South Republic River Hideaway

Come relax in this comfortable home situated on a bend of the Michigamme River. Enjoy opportunities for outdoor recreation with nearby ATV and snowmobile trails. South Republic is a small, quiet community located less than an hour southwest of Marquette and 30 minutes from Ishpeming. Republic is a also a great place for fishing and hosts an annual fishing derby in July The space The property sits on over 300 feet of shoreline. The large living room has huge windows both facing east towards the river and west. The view of the river can also be enjoyed from a large window in the family room where you enter the home. One bedroom has a queen bed. The other has twin-over-full bunk beds, plus a twin trundle bed if needed. There is also a futon available which sleeps 1-2. Laundry is available in the basement (unfinished). Aug 2025 update - we now have air-conditioning!! Guest access You'll have access to the whole house. There's a large driveway with plenty of room to park both your car and a pickup with trailer if needed. There is a public boat landing about 5 miles away (separate portion of river above a dam). Other things to note There is a well stocked hardware store with some groceries within walking distance. In the north part of Republic, about 5 miles away, is the Pine Grove Bar and Summer Place Restaurant. Summer Place is a great family run restaurant with a great menu, however they do not take credit cards. Cash or check only. Try the broasted chicken!
