Description
Welcome to our HOP(E) Redwood Cottage! (HOP, pronounced HOPE is the Native American word for Redwoods) This newly renovated cottage is one of three homes available on our large property. We are quite literally in the middle of the Coastal Redwoods centrally located in the heart of the National & State Redwood Parks with easy access to explore all the parks, trails, & beaches while providing a cozy, well-equipped home to rest in-between your adventures. The space Our six acre property sits in the middle of the Redwood National Park, backs up to Prairie Creek, & offers 3 Cottages on one side of the property as well as a small full hook-up RV Park on the opposite side. We are often visited by the amazing wildlife, including the Roosevelt Elk that call this area home. We are right off of Highway 101, three miles north of the town of Orick. This 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom Cottage has a large living room, full kitchen, dining room, laundry room (full sized) & sleeps 8. It has a King, Queen, & 2 bunk beds w/ 4 Twin Beds. Sometimes we lose power in our neck of the woods. We now have a full-house generator so your stay is not interrupted. We also offer free Starlink WiFi as there is no cell coverage here. Guest access You will have access to the whole house and back yard with a BBQ, Patio Furnishings, & Fire Pit. This Cottage sits on our 6.5 acre property, bordered by 3 creeks. You are welcome to enjoy the property. In addition, in the fall, feel free to pick the wild Blackberries that encircle the property. We love that the Elk visit our property regularly. We hope you are able to enjoy their majestic beauty while you are here. Please be advised they are wild animals. Keep your pets on leash while outside at all times & do not approach the Elk or feed them as they can be very unpredictable & dangerous. We also try to stay on top of cleaning up the Elk droppings. Please be patient with us, if they have visited in-between our clean up. Other things to note We are located in the middle of the beautiful north coast Redwoods, surrounded by National & State Parks, Lagoons, Beaches, Creeks & Rivers. Adventure is literally in every direction, whether you want to stroll through the Redwoods, go to the beach, take a hike, or adventure in our many water ways. Please note: from May 15-September 15th, a free day-use permit is required to access Fern Canyon/Gold Bluff Beach. This can be acquired online or at our local Visitor Centers.
