Description

Enjoy the lovely setting of this romantic spot in the heart of North Devon surrounded by nature. This bespoke Shepherds hut is nestled in a 3 acre field with its own river meandering through. Built with only comfort in mind so you can relax by the warmth of the log fire, read a book or watch TV on the king size bed. This is the place to be still and take in the sunset views, starry night skies and the sound of the river whilst relaxing in the wood fired hot tub with your favourite person. The space Our Shepherds hut is fully equipped with everything that you may need. There is a king size bed, plenty of under bed storage, USB ports and multiple electric sockets. You can watch TV, listen to music or read a book. The underfloor heating provides a comfortable temperature all year round and of course the log burner can be easily lit should you wish to be really toasty warm! The kitchen area has everything you may need including all cooking utensils, pots, pans and crockery, 2 ring gas hob, mini slow cooker, toaster, full size fridge with freezer compartment and combination microwave/oven. The en-suite boasts a modern and spacious shower, Belfast sink, heated towel rail and a modern compost toilet. You will have a Devonshire cream tea waiting for you on your arrival (cream first of course!) You will also have use of a large picnic bench down by the river, why not enjoy a picnic? Extended family are more than welcome to come along and pitch up a tent in the field for a small additional fee. Please enquire. If you're keen on fishing we have approximately 250m of fishing rights on the River Mole which you can take advantage of. Please ensure you have a valid permit! Guest access From your designated guest parking space you will have views across the edge of town and the valley down towards the river and the hut. From here you will have a short but relatively steep 50 metre walk down to the hut and your own exclusive 3 acre field with access to the river. In winter and after periods of prolonged wet weather suitable grippy footwear or wellies are recommended. Please note, due to its location this hut may not be suitable for people with certain mobility issues. Other things to note We aim to give you as much privacy as possible and will not intrude on your stay. We want you to feel at home and relaxed. We will always try to meet and greet you/help with bags and give you initial information that will help your stay, but sometimes this may not always be possible. There is however a comprehensive information book with everything that you may need for a comfortable stay. Check in days are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Sundays. Check in time is between 3pm and 9pm and check out is 10am. On some occasions we may be able to accommodate early check-ins or later check-outs for a small fee of £10. Please just ask. We accept over 18's only. If you are arriving when it is dark, please let us know so we can have torches ready for you in the parking bay as the solar lighting isn't at its strongest during the winter. Torches are provided inside the hut should you ever go out at night. If you wish to have the wood fired hot tub pre-heated prior to your arrival (it takes 2-3 hours) this can be arranged for £20 (paid on arrival or by BACS) so you will be able to just hop straight in! We provide towels and bathrobes but if you need extra for the hot tub, please bring your own. PLEASE NOTE: Between November and March (inclusive) there will be a mandatory £20 charge (paid for on arrival or by BACS) for pre-heating the hot tub to eliminate the risk of freezing. If you do not wish to use the hot tub during your stay please let us know and it will be left empty. Enough logs for 1 nights burning for the log burner/hot tub/fire pit are provided free with your stay however additional logs can be purchased from us for £7 per box. (approximately 1 nights burning) If its a special occasion, just let us know in advance and we can help make it memorable! Please also specify at time of booking if you are bringing a dog so we can prepare for them. We accept 1 medium size dog (Labrador size) or 2 small dogs (Jack Russell size) at a charge of £10 per dog per stay. We provide 1 large fluffy roll up dog bed with a clean fleece blanket, food/water bowls and a toy hamper with poop bags should you need them. Please bring your own dog towels! Please be aware that at various times of the year there will be ewes and lambs in the fields immediately around the hut although the garden area is dog friendly and secure.
