Sugar House Creamery Farmhouse
Sugar House Creamery Farmhouse
Description
Tucked away at the base of Ebenezer Mountain, surrounded by rolling cow pastures and just minutes from the High Peaks is this traditional farmhouse on a working dairy farm. The space Sugar House Creamery is a farmstead creamery in the high peaks region of the Adirondack mountains. Dairy farms are few and far between in this part of the world so the sight of our Brown Swiss making their way back to the barn for milking is especially special. The farmhouse is a cozy space with bright, cheery decor and loads of East-facing windows for maximum morning sunlight. This is a whole house rental, though at the moment the upstairs of the house remains unfinished and is not currently included in the listing. Sleeping accommodations include one queen-sized bed (as pictured) and two tri-fold mattresses that can be set up wherever guests prefer (these are great for kids but also comfy for adults). The front porch is a lovely place to sit and enjoy your morning tea or coffee. The kitchen comes equipped with all manner of tools and implements for all your cooking needs. Une maison d'hote a la ferme! Les francophones sentiraient bienvenues--nous parlons francais! Guest access Sugar House Creamery is a working farm. It is peaceful and pastoral, but it’s also very active. Our farm store has a steady flow of customers throughout the day (MWF), cows parade to pasture up and down the driveway, the low hum of the milk pump kicks off the farm workday. It’s an example of thriving, small-scale agriculture! If you’re interested, we love to talk cows and cheese. Guests are very welcome to mosey up to the barn to watch milking or take a walk through our rolling pastures (mind the cow poop!). Across the driveway from the Farmhouse is our Farm Store where we sell our cheese along with fresh products from neighboring farms (yogurt, eggs, meats, bread, snacks and more!). Other things to note This is an active dairy farm complete with accompanying sights, smells. and sounds. We're talkin' tractors revving, bugs buzzing, and manure... doing manure stuff! Please note that while many animals LIVE on this farm, we do not allow guests to bring pets.
