This historic brick farmhouse was fully renovated from top to bottom in 2023 and is one of the few permitted airbnbs in the township! Come ski, board or try out the longest tubing runs in North America. Blue Mountain is a 3 minute drive, opens 12/6/2024. Return to the comforts of a chef’s eat in kitchen, 2 living rooms, games room, hot tub, bbq, swing set, mega chess set, fire pit and fireplace (electric). The space The home is situated on just over an acre of land with Buckwha creek and the historic Little Gap covered bridge right next door and a quick 3 minute drive to the base of Blue Mountain. Park by the covered bridge and come on in! The home has been tastefully renovated for your comfort and enjoyment and includes central heat and A/C. There are 4 bedrooms upstairs (2 kings, 1 queen and twin over twin bunk). The primary king bedroom has an electric fireplace, desk and armchair. As you enter the home, come into the warmth of the mud room with hooks for all your gear not to mention a mitt/boot warmer. In a few more steps you’re in the kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and an eat-in island. The kitchen is stocked with Duo Keurig (pods and drip) coffee maker, waffle maker, microwave and dishwasher. We have pots, pans, baking sheets, and all the plates/cups to feed your friends and family. We supply oil, salt, pepper, and try to keep all our favorite spices in stock. The dining room boasts a custom live-edge table for 10. The living room has 2 sectionals and an armchair while a secondary living room (sunroom) has sofa and TV. The games room is in another sun room looking out over the covered bridge and has 2 armchairs, a 412 game 2-seater arcade table, and a game table that converts between ping pong air hockey and fuseball. The bathrooms have Delta and Vigo fixtures. There is a tankless on-demand hot water heater so we’ll never run out of hot water. Home entry is via a Schlage encode lock with keypad, your entry is self check-in. The home comes with towels, sheets, duvets, duvet covers. We provide items to get you started such as soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, dishwasher pods, drip and keurig coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener, toilet paper, paper towels. Outside within our fully fenced yard you’ll find a firepit with 8 polywood Adirondack chairs, and an outdoor polywood table for 8, plus a kids picnic table (best for toddlers/young children). There is a swingset for children aged 5-12 and a sandbox as well as a life size chess set. The hot tub is larger than most and officially seats 7. The covered bridge Inn restaurant and pub is a block away, and has great food, Apres-ski vibes and often live music. Blue mountain is about a 3-5 minute drive. The town of Palmerton is about 5 minutes in the other direction. If you have a larger group we have another home a few miles away, or check out the bed and breakfast next door. Guest access The whole home is yours to use other than the basement, attic and storage shed. Other things to note The home is bordered by Buckwha creek on one side and Hunter creek on another. Although the yard is fenced, please take care with children and animals to ensure they are supervised at all times. The home has some historic features including 2 staircases to the second floor. The back historic staircase is narrow from side to side, while the front staircase is wide with slightly shallow step length. You’re in the country staying at a home that is over 100 years old. Expect areas of uneven ground outdoors. Old houses settle a bit and were built for humans that weren’t as tall as the modern age. Despite a gut renovation there are some floors and ceilings that aren’t perfectly square, and clearance at doors and stairs that are lower than modern homes- watch your head! Due to these irregular Kew, this hike may not be suitable for all guests. We are sorry to have to mention this but: This historic renovated brick farmhouse is great for families and gatherings of close friends but it is not a "party house". Parties are against AirBnB policy and will result in cancellation of the booking. Parties will be shut down by security and/or police if necessary. We had the unfortunate experience of having a guest host a party at our home which resulted in thousands of dollars in damages. We have installed exterior cameras which monitor the parking area and entry points to the home. There are no cameras inside the home nor is there a camera directed to the hot tub where you would expect privacy. We have also newly installed a Minut party monitoring device. This is not video or audio recording, but does monitor for cigarette, vape and marijuana smoke etc within the home. We are maintaining this home as family friendly. Smoking is not permitted within the home to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our guests including children. Smoking of any kind within the home will be identified and reported to AirBnB and additional cleaning fees for smoke remediation may be be incurred.
