16th century Grade 2 listed cottage on a quiet street in Petworth, a beautiful market town famous for its cobbled streets and numerous antique/homeware shops, in the heart of the South Downs. The cottage is furnished to a high standard, retaining period features and quirky charm. The cosy layout makes it ideal for couples/solo travellers. You’ll find bars, pubs, restaurants, delis and antique/homeware shops on the doorstep, and Petworth House and park (a National Trust property) is 2-mins away. The space The cottage has: - Downstairs entrance lobby/dining room. - Galley kitchen with washing machine and dishwasher in outhouse. - First floor living room. Two sofas and TV. - One double bedroom (king bed) on the third floor. - Bathroom with bath and overhead shower. - A VERY small outside courtyard (6ft x 3ft). There is no garden at the property, but Petworth Park is a walk away for walks and picnics on the lake. - Fibre internet throughout. The cottage requires manoeuvring to avoid banging heads on low beams and ceilings. Rooms are set across three floors with VERY steep stairs owing to the historic nature of the building. Please view the photos to ensure you are able to climb the stairs safely. Please note, we do not accept bookings with children. And dogs are not permitted to stay. Guest access Keys will be left in a lockbox for collection. Details provided before check-in. Other things to note Parking is available in a large public car park behind the house at Pound Street, a 2 minute walk from the front door. £2.60 for 24 hours. Guests can pull up outside the cottage to unload for up to 1 hour on the High Street. Petworth House is a two minute walk away. Also a short drive away: - Goodwood hotel/racecourse/motorcircuit - Cowdray Park and Polo - Midhurst - Chichester - Parham House - Pulborough - Arundel - Billingshurst There are wonderful things to see and do in the Sussex Downs. We have six vineyards close by, two within walking distance for a stroll and a tasting in the summer. The cottage is on the High Street, which is one of the quietest streets in the town. This is NOT one of the streets on the one-way system.
