The space Historic Artist’s Studio with Comfort, Charm & a Creative Touch Welcome to your spacious private room at the front of a historic Jacksonville home, believed to have been built in 1948. This home belonged to my father for 38 years, and the room you’ll be staying in was once his personal art studio. He was a prolific painter and printmaker, and several of his original works now grace the walls for you to enjoy (and are available for purchase!). The space has been thoughtfully transformed into a cozy and comfortable retreat—your perfect home away from home. Relax indoors with a queen bed, a couch, and a day bed, along with convenient amenities like a table, microwave, refrigerator, hot water kettle, coffee maker, plates, silverware, and wine glasses. There’s also a closet for storage and a large private bathroom with a tub and all the essentials you might need. Step outside to your own little front patio, ideal for sipping your morning coffee or tea as you watch the world go by. Whether you're here to unwind or explore, this unique studio offers comfort, character, and a creative spirit in the heart of Jacksonville. Guest access Guests will enter their spacious private room through the front door of the home. The room includes a private en-suite bathroom for your exclusive use. Please note: One side of the room has a curtained area that conceals a staircase leading to the attic, which is not accessible to guests. Other things to note Arrival & Parking Details The house is green with gold trim and sits on the corner of Oregon and E Street. Your private entrance is at the front of the house, and I’ll send you your personalized door code the day before your arrival. Parking is available for up to two cars on E Street, near the front of the house by the dark brown fence. Please make sure your rear bumper stays in front of the yellow curb line that curves around the corner—parking enforcement is active and may issue tickets. If you’re bringing more than one vehicle, just let me know in advance so I can make sure there's enough space. On Britt concert nights, I’ll place a No Parking sign in your spot to prevent concertgoers from taking it. We’re just four blocks from the Britt Music Festival—a quick 10-minute walk! You can also hop on the trolley, which takes you up the hill to the amphitheater. We hope you're able to catch a concert or two during your stay in this sweet home!
