The Half Way House is an antique British Colonial Caribbean House circa 1840 situated in the Balfour Town in the heart of Salt Cay. This house has been carefully restored and renovated. The house offers incredible views over the ocean and the Salinas of Salt Cay. Two living areas inside and 2 exterior living areas. This house is designed for comfort and beautiful vistas. Between the middle of January and the middle of April, expect to see Humpback whales pass by the house. The space The Half Way House offers living and dining space on the main floor, as well as the kitchen, an office and a half bath. 2 large shuttered doors enter into the living area from the Salinas porch. There is third shuttered door that leads to the upstairs stairway. There is a large living area with ceiling fan and incredible views of of both the ocean and the Salinas. 3 bedrooms, one with ensuite bath and a mini split air conditioner, a bath with a balcony, and 2 other bedrooms. There is a gallery with large screened windows that overlook the sea. Historical features include wood lined walls, tray and beam ceilings, and ship knee supports. This is an incredible opportunity to enjoy historical features with modern comfort. Other things to note Salt Cay is not an easy place to get to. There are 3 flights a week from Provo. Monday PM, and Friday Am and PM. The Salt Cay Ferry runs from Salt Cay to Grand Turk every Tuesday, Wed and Friday at 8 am and leaves Grand Turk at 2:30. Wed. ferry returns at 1. Salt Cay Divers offers pick up at the dock in GT should you want to fly on a day not offered to Salt Cay. Salt Cay is a rustic island with 3 small restaurants, 3 small grocery stores and Salt Cay Divers. Expect an out of the box vacation on a Caribbean Island without any corporate resorts. Free roaming donkeys and cows, great beaches, friendly and helpful locals, it does not get much better than Salt Cay!
