Dunes Woodland is a private, 12 acre homestead perfectly situated for exploring the Indiana Dunes National and State Parks. It is conveniently located around the corner from the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center and 2 miles to the beach. During your stay at this cozy and rustic property you can enjoy bird watching by the pond, coffee on the patio, and evening bonfires. Historic downtown Chesterton and Porter offer unique dining and shopping opportunities. We look forward to hosting you! This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath house located on 12 acres of land. There is a small pond that is perfect for bird watching. There is a bedroom with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with bunk beds and an extra twin mattress. The property was recently painted and the wood floors refinished. The king bedroom has a small built in desk perfect for working from home. The large screen door off the living room gives you a great view of the backyard. Guests have full access to the property. Feel free to explore the large backyard, pond, and surrounding woods. This property is the best of both worlds - private country setting right in the middle of town. It is located off the highway, so a certain level of road noise should be expected. There is a nearby Dollar General, gas station, and liquor store. Please be cautious pulling in and out of the driveway. There are no sidewalks and we are on a busy highway, so driving to and from your local activities is recommended. You can easily park at the nearby Dunes Visitor Center to quickly access hiking and biking trails. We have well water that is filtered and softened. It is safe to drink, however, if you do not like the taste, please use the filtered water faucet at the kitchen sink or purchase bottled water for drinking. Also, well water stains fixtures, so please do not mistake the stains for dirt – our house is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between guests. We have a septic system, so please do not flush any products besides toilet paper down the toilet.
