This warm, character-filled retreat is ideal for couples, solo travelers, or friends looking to rest, explore, or reconnect with nature. We use chemical-free, biodegradable products and avoid pesticides - so while you might see a few weeds, you’ll also enjoy fresh, clean air, a healthy environment and more wildlife than you generally get elsewhere! A lot of our acreage is wild land as nature intended with designated cleared areas. 🐝🐨 💡 While select parts of the land and your guest suite is yours to enjoy, please note our family lives in the main home and there is one other Airbnb suite on the property. Everyone has their own entry to their own indoor living space and we do our best to ensure privacy and peace for all. You may see us out and about or tending to the land, but we’ll always respect your space — and are happy to offer help or stay hands-off as needed. Located just 30 minutes from Brisbane, Mt Tamborine and the Gold Coast, you’re perfectly placed to explore both bushland and beaches. However, please note that our family resides on the premises also, and we sometimes also have other Airbnb Guests in our other Guest Suite. As such, the other enclosed buildings outside of The Quarters guest suite & communal outdoor areas will not be accessible. For the privacy of our family and our other guests, please refrain from walking directly up either side of the house. Our animals are our much loved pets and stay locked in shelters throughout portions of the day to protect them from predators. They are also situated on our families end of the property. We welcome visits but keep it set to a limited time of the day where we can be there to assist if needed. Animal visiting hours will be confirmed with you in your welcome message. It usually runs between 4:30pm-5:30pm until sundown depending on the season and daylight hours. Other things to note Please be aware that Barrenjoey Ridge may not be suitable for children due to steep inclines and lack of childproofing around the property. Additionally, please consider that some pets or adults may not find the property suitable due to hazardous local wildlife such as bees and snakes. We encourage you to take these factors into consideration before booking. We provide pod coffee, tea, salt, pepper, and olive oil in your guest suite. However, if you need milk or other supplies, we recommend visiting a nearby shop before arriving. If you require anything during your stay, there are shops only a short 10-minute drive away. There is no microwave in the kitchen as we encourage our guests to slow down, and enjoy the tranquility of cooking on a traditional gas stovetop. Please note there is a 20cm step up to get into the guest suite. Please bring along your own firewood and kindling for the outdoor firepit and indoor fireplace.
