Bell grew up in nearby Margaree Valley, while I grew up in Toronto and have lived here full-time for 30 years. I built this cottage myself with guests in mind; the result is a cottage that has all of the charm of our original SeaSky cottage, but with excellent amenities, and lots of privacy, right beside the ocean. There is a rich, strong culture here, historically and musically, and life unwinds at its own special pace. In a week you can really get a sense of the rhythms and charm of Cape Breton. It's nice to be in a place where you don't need air-conditioning; Cape Breton summers are warm-to-hot in the day, but perfect in the evening, and at the shore there are lovely ocean breezes. Chimney Corner beach is one of the finest on the island, and it's mostly unoccupied during the week– in addition to the fine beach and swimming, there are interesting rock formations to explore nearby. Cape Breton is a spectacular place, and you'll find the scenery on this stretch of coastline particularly striking. Guest access Guests have use of all spaces in cottage.
