Hill Street House is the quintessential river-town residence, located within walking distance of Fountain City's quaint downtown, legendary pubs, and riverfront, but just far enough from the highway and trains to still get a good night's sleep. Perched snuggly on the bluffside overlooking the Mississippi River, you'll see an ever-changing panorama of river boats, barges, and birds in flight against a backdrop of Minnesota bluffs in the distance and a jumble of rooftops below. The space Hill Street House is a two-story duplex. Airbnb guests have access to the upper unit, and our caretakers live in the lower unit. The upper unit has two guest bedrooms--each with a queen-size bed and spacious closets--a full bathroom, a well-appointed kitchen for preparing meals, a cozy living room, a separate office with workspace, and convenient laundry facilities. In the unlikely event that you tire of the captivating scene out the window, we supply plenty of games, books, puzzles, ROKU television, and WIFI. Stylish décor compliments the vintage hardwood floors and historic feel of this fully-renovated home. The outdoor spaces include a private deck with river views and a terraced yard with a fire pit, where you'll hear the occasional train coursing along the river and a chorus of church bells ringing on the hour. Historic Fountain City is located on the Great River Road National Scenic Byway, just 10 minutes from downtown Winona, near galleries, shops, wineries, breweries, museums, and endless outdoor recreation and scenic beauty. Convenient street parking is right outside the door. Guest access Guests have access to the entire upper apartment as well as the outdoor spaces. (The lower unit is occupied by a caretaker couple.) Other things to note Children and dogs are both welcome! We provide kids' dinnerware, books and toys, highchair, and a pac-n-play for children. Dog water/food bowls are in the closet by the front door. There is a $45 fee for dogs.
