The Space and Amenities * Built in 1918, this charming, century-old house features original character and is located in the historic "Little Italy" of The Hill. * The master suite includes a super plush queen-size bed, TV, Blu-ray player, large closet, and a dedicated workspace with a desk and supplies. * A second bedroom is available via a queen-size sofa sleeper in the living room, which can be made private with French doors and room-darkening shades . The space * Relax in the sitting room adjacent to the master suite, where you can read or listen to records on the Victrola. * Enjoy the fully stocked kitchen, featuring a stove, oven, microwave, toaster, and fridge. It includes all necessary cookware, dishware, spices, olive oil, and coffee/tea options (Keurig, French press, electric kettle). * Entertainment options include a pool table in the basement billiard room, TVs, games, coloring books, and an assortment of DVDs. * Outdoor space includes a patio with a fire bowl for evening relaxation and a fenced-in backyard. * High-speed internet is included, and chocolates are provided as a complimentary welcome gift. * The house has a keyless lock system; a personal code will be provided for your stay. The Neighborhood * Walk to numerous award-winning Italian restaurants, cafes, shops, and markets. * The neighborhood is safe and pleasant for walking and sightseeing. * Explore nearby landmarks like St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the new Piazza Imo, and Hall of Fame Place . * Learn about the area's history by watching the documentary "America's Last Little Italy: The Hill," which is available via Prime or as a DVD at the house. * Take a short walk to the Missouri Botanical Garden. * Many popular destinations are just a 10-minute drive away, including Forest Park, the Zoo, the Science Center, the Art Museum, the Gateway Arch, Downtown, City Museum, Central West End, WashU, SLU, and Busch Stadium. Guest Access and Policies * Guests will have access to the entire first floor, the billiard room, the outdoor patio, and the backyard. * PARKING: a 2-car parking pad is available off-street. In late April to early June, street parking may be necessary due to mulberries from a tree in the backyard. * Free street parking is also available in front of the house. * Self-check-in is available anytime after 3:00 pm. * PLS NOTE THAT:  parties, unregistered guests, events, pets, and indoor smoking are not permitted. Visitors subject to approval.  * For those interested, fresh-baked bread may be available upon arrival; please ask in advance. This is not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate. * A lawn crew typically maintains the yard on Monday or Tuesday afternoons/evenings **IMPORTANT*** **PLEASE READ*** We take great pride in providing a world-class experience for you and your guests. To maintain this level of experience, we have created the following house rule. Please review the house rules and make sure that everybody in your group has read and understood them. Thank you for your understanding.  ALL GUESTS MUST BE ACCOUNTED FOR Every person entering the property must be listed on the reservation, even if they are not spending the night. Maximum occupancy for the property is 4 guests. WE TAKE VIOLATIONS VERY SERIOUSLY, AND FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE RULES BELOW WILL RESULT IN EXTRA FINES AND PENALTIES INCLUDING THE LOSS OF YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT AND IMMEDIATE REMOVAL FROM THE PREMISES. No pets  No parties, events, or neighborhood disturbances of any kind.  No guests that are not listed on your reservation No illegal drugs anywhere on the property No smoking or vaping indoors No tampering with security cameras CHECKOUT Checkout is at 11am. Anytime later will result in a fine of $50/hour unless approved in advance. Please follow the checkout instructions on the sign in the kitchen (wash dishes, remove the trash, leave the house tidy, and lock the doors.) PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL Do not tamper with TV cables or attempt to move the TVs or TV cabinets in either room. They are secured to the wall and moving them will damage the wall. Please do not place drinks or food on the pool table. Damage to the billiard room, table, or equipment will be charged to the guest. Please keep noise to a minimum from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am in the outdoor spaces. Note: the patio lights are on a timer and shut off early to avoid shining in the neighbor's windows. We have a noise monitoring service in the house and it only monitors the decibel level and does not record any audio. Smokers, please use the ashtray located on the patio (top of the fire table). Do not leave cigarette butts anywhere else. Smoking in the house is prohibited and failure to comply will result in a $100 fee as well as the costs to remove the smoke smell from the inside of the house.  Smokers, please leave smoky clothes outside overnight to air out (if weather permits). Please use the cleaning towels in the cabinet under the microwave for spills and messes. Do not use the white bathroom towels. Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Unsalvagable linens and towels will be charged to the guest. Please use the hooks on the bathroom door for towels. Do not place wet towels on furniture or hang them from the shower curtain rod.  Please remove dirty shoes upon entry and leave them on the shoe rack by the back door, or on the rug by the front door.  Please keep the doors and windows closed at all times in order to help with heating and cooling. This includes the main door in the kitchen (the storm door does not prevent heat or cold from getting in the house.) Children in the billiard room should be supervised by an adult to avoid accidental damage the pool table and felt. Additional scratches to the felt may incur a repair fee.  Thanks for your understanding and enjoy your stay. Guest access Numerous award-winning Italian restaurants are just a few blocks away. The neighborhood is very safe and pleasant for walking around to shop or see attractions including the beautiful architecture of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the new Piazza Imo with its massive Italian fountain and custom-made iron gates. There's also Hall of Fame Place where Yogi Berra, Joe Garagiola, and Jack Buck lived. The beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden is just a short walk away. Forest Park, Zoo, Science Center, Art Museum, Arch, Downtown, City Museum, Central West End, WashU, SLU, Busch Stadium, and more – all just a 10-minute drive away. NOTE: You must input dates and guest count before the platform calculates an accurate price for your visit. Each guest must be accounted for and having undocumented people stop by (even for a short amount of time) is prohibited. We will not tolerate parties or neighborhood disturbances of any kind. Please do not inquire if your plans for the use of this property involve: - Parties - Guests that aren't listed on your reservation - Events - Pets - Smoking indoors Check yourself in anytime after 3:00pm using the keypads on either the front or back door. I will message you with a code the morning of your arrival. The whole house will be yours – including the entire first floor, billiard room in the basement, outdoor patio, fenced-in backyard, and 2-car parking pad. Other things to note We are passionate about bread baking and are happy to share it with you. If you would like a loaf upon arrival, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate. In spring months (approximately late April to early June) the designated off-street parking area may not be available due to mulberries dropping from the tree in the backyard. However there is plenty of free parking on the street in front. Also, please note that a lawn crew stops by to cut the grass in the afternoon/evening – normally on Mondays or Tuesdays depending on the weather.
