Every room and apartment at our historic inn is thoughtfully curated to honor the timeless elegance of our French Second Empire Victorian architecture, complete with its classic mansard roof architecture. Outside, guests can unwind in our spectacular lush gardens or escape into the serene, private screened courtyard for a peaceful morning coffee or a quiet evening glass of wine. Beyond our doors lies the vibrant, walkable magic of Lafayette Square. Take a romantic stroll through 30-acre Lafayette Park—the oldest urban park west of the Mississippi—with its scenic lake, historic grotto, and wrought-iron bridges. Guest access Guest will have access to the shared spaces in the main house, and the back patio which is also shared with other guests. Other things to note Please, no smoking in either the house, your room, or the shared courtyard. There is an additional $100 fee to clean the room of smoke. If a guest checks out 15-30 mins past the agreed upon time without advance approval there is a $50 penalty / 1 hr past = $100 penalty. No unregistered guests are allowed on the premises. No events, gatherings, or parties are allowed. There is abundant free street parking in front of the property under street lamps. For the security of our guests and to comply with local lodging regulations, a valid government-issued ID may be required to be presented upon arrival. For stays of 30+ nights, a supplemental rental agreement may also be required to finalize the reservation. Property Health & Safety Policy: Because this historic inn features private guest rooms that share a central, indoor climate-control and ventilation system, the property is maintained as a strictly dander-free environment to protect our full-time resident staff from severe respiratory asthma. Our resident staff actively manages the interior common spaces daily to maintain high standards of cleanliness. For operational safety reasons, the property cannot accommodate pets or animals of any kind, including service and assistance animals, due to this direct health hazard. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our historic spaces safe.
