Description
Abbeys Farm Retreat offers the perfect getaway to unwind and reconnect with nature. The glamping tent is nestled amongst the trees and overlooks the spring fed dam. It blends the freedom of carefree camping with luxuries you would hope to find in an upmarket resort. Soak your worries away in the outdoor stone bath tub, enjoy the outdoor fire pit under the stars, or simply lounge out in the hammocks, deck chairs, bean bags and day bed. The space The glamping tent overlooks the spring fed dam which stays full right through summer, attracting an abundance of wildlife. It is surrounded by native bush land which is home to many animals, including kangaroos and the endangered (and extremely cute) ring tail possum. The energy of the land is very calming. The lack of light pollution allows for some incredible star gazing, while the lack of noise pollution allows your body to sink into the sounds of nature - birdsong, frogs, the flow of water cascading out the dam and even the sound of the ocean carried down the valley on calm days. We are perfectly situated between the towns Margaret River, Yallingup and Dunsborough and short drives from numerous world class beaches, wineries, restaurants, breweries and hiking trails. Some of the little luxuries for you to enjoy during your stay include: • French linen bedding • Electric heater • Electric blanket • Air-conditioning • Outdoor shower • Outdoor stone bath • Bath & beach towels • French linen bath robes • Cashmere merino blankets • Traditional Mayan hammocks • Fully equipped kitchen • Coffee machine • Gas cooktop • Outdoor fire pit (seasonal) • Complimentary locally sourced produce including wine from boutique winery Peacetree Estate, Commonage Coffee Co beans, Gabriel Chocolate hot drinking cocoa, Olio Bello olive oil and Vasse Virgin soaps, shampoo & conditioner. Guest access The property is 2.5 hectares (6 acres) and incorporates the original 1920’s cottage and glamping tent on opposite sides of the property. The cottage has its own private fenced off garden which surrounds it. The glamping tent is entirely hidden from the cottage by the existing barn, timber screening and vegetation. When we’re not staying in the cottage we make it available to friends and family or put it up on Airbnb. We ask guests staying at the cottage to keep to the fenced off garden surrounding it to ensure the exclusive privacy of guests staying at the glamping tent. Likewise, we ask guests staying in the glamping tent to respect the privacy of guests staying at the cottage. The welcome brochure will provide you with everything else, including some local tips of where to best wine, dine, exercise or relax. Other things to note The fire pit may only be used when permitted (usually 1st May to 15th October) due to the risk of bush fires, however we will provide you with up-to-date information prior to your stay. The glamping tent is located approx. 75 meters from Abbeys Farm Rd, so you can expect a vehicle to drive past approx. every 10 minutes or so - more during high season, less during low season. When we are staying at the cottage we might need access to the property (including the barn) for maintenance and general upkeep. We will never come up to the tent unannounced but you might (rarely) see us working around the property. There are vineyards at the back of our property which will very occasionally have people and working them. Registration Details STRA62820U22KNJV
