Description
Serene historical 4 bedroom home in the perfect location for enjoying Merida and surrounding areas. Renovated and elegantly furnished with European Beaux Arts and Mexican antiques. A short walk to the fresh fruit, veg and flower market at Santiago Park, 15 mins from airport, 10 mins walk to Santa Lucia square and Plaza Grande. Beautiful spacious rooms, quality sheets and mattresses with a variety of spaces indoors and outdoors to enjoy. 100mbps Fibre Optic Internet The space As you enter the house you can feel like you have travelled to another time. With 18' ceilings and many beautiful historical elements, including original tile floors and original wood doors, and beaux arts antiques, the house immerses you in the history for which Merida is so appreciated. The front rooms were once used as an art gallery. The living room, kitchen and master bedroom all open onto a small planted courtyard with fountain on the main floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with new appliances: coffee maker, ice maker, and a NutriBullet for making fresh smoothies. There is a utility closet adjacent to the kitchen with a new washer and dryer. The quiet master bedroom has a queen bed, a private ensuite, and features antique European doors and clothes closet. The second bedroom upstairs, also with an ensuite, has a queen bed, clothes closet, incredible views of palm tops and the Santiago neighbourhood. There is a lovely secluded terrace with citrus trees in pots (kumquat, lime and orange) overlooking the garden with loungers. Great for your morning coffee facing the rising sun. Palm trees, frangipani, bougainvillea, jasmine, and lilies all grow in the sunny private garden. A covered veranda is perfect for morning coffee, or watching swimmers enjoying the filtered swimming pool. Using your laptop, you can spend the day working here. The third and fourth bedrooms (one queen, two twins) are in a casita facing the garden. These large and bright bedrooms share access to a bathroom and shower overlooking a small ornamental garden. There is more limited clothes storage in the casita bedrooms. All four bedrooms are away from the street and have their own new air conditioners, and ceiling fans. We only use high quality Egyptian cotton sheets and pillow cases. The beds are all new and mattresses are comfortable, with memory foam pillow top mattresses. Stairs at the casita lead to two additional rooftop terraces: one is a large covered tejaban area (with sink, table and seating, and bar area) great for watching the sunset, playing cards, and entertaining while the other is perfect for yoga or sunbathing. Guest access The guests have entire home for private use. Other things to note Electricity is charged separately based on usage. Meter readings at arrival and departure. This is normal for Merida. Average runs $2-$5 per day. Internet is fibre optic 100mbps
