Take a 10 min. walk to Hawthorne or Belmont street shopping districts or relax in our beautiful garden and hot tub. Come stay in our beautiful and sunny guest room in a historic colonial house, where you can take an easy walk through the neighborhoods to some of Portland's best shopping districts or stay in and relax in our backyard hot tub. Enjoy homemade baked goods in the morning and In the afternoon come back from a day of sightseeing to the sounds of harp and violin duets or lessons in the living room. Guests have access to a backyard with hot tub and picnic table and front porch with rocking chair. Garage storage space for bicycles and a washer and dryer are available. No TV in your room but we have wireless internet, you are welcome to watch movies or TV in our den or browse our well-stocked book shelves. In the morning we provide homemade baked goods, fruit and cereal and coffee and tea. We've lived in the neighborhood for 25+ years and we're happy to provide recommendations for local business, restaurants, hiking, biking or walking trails. The house is located in the beautiful Laurelhurst neighborhood, a historic residential area with big trees and lovely gardens but the bustling shopping districts on Belmont st. (5 min. walk) and Hawthorne st. (10 min. walk) are easy distances away. The house is also one block away from Laurelhurst park, one of the biggest in the city, which was designed by the same firm as Central and Prospect Park. Getting around the city is extremely easy. You can get many places in SE Portland on foot if you like walking and we're at the intersection of several bike routes. Public transit is available within a few block. A 5 min. walk takes you to several major bus lines, which can take you downtown, across town or to the MAX (electric train) station.
