Endless opportunities await for rock hounding, wildlife enthusiast and OTV’ers with China Wall and Rampart Range close by. If you want to wander, Ski Breck is 1:15hr drive over Wilkerson Pass. Located above The Ponderosa Country Store with parking provided to accommodate large or small vehicles. The Nest is 45 minutes west of Colorado Springs, just before Wilkerson Pass 50 miles from Buena Vista or Fairplay. You’ll get a comfy nights sleep in the California king bed and wake up with energy to tour the sites. A separate water closet and showering area provide privacy while expediting getting ready. If you’re here for a play, but still need to work, we have provided a desk space, and Internet to assist you. When you’re ready, Lake George has much to explore. Walk out back into national forest and enjoy an abundance of wildlife. When you’re done adventuring come back and enjoy a meal in your kitchenette. Minutes away you’ll find many state parks in the area, including Mueller State Park, 11 Mile State Park and The Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. Take a drive up 11 Mile Canyon along the South Platte through carved out railroad tunnels. Stop and watch the climbers in the canyon. Discover underwater towns, and learn how Lake George went from boom to bust. Tour fossilized Sequoias in the Florissant Fossil Beds and continue on to the casinos in Cripple Creek. Lake George is conveniently located 45 miles from Manitou Springs, The Incline, The Pikes Peak Drive and Garden of the gods. Lake George is a small rural town with no public transportation or bike paths. You will need a vehicle to get to most locations. There is one flight of steps to the entrance of the apartment.
