The Barn is bordered by fields and neighbouring Casewick Hall, a 17th century private estate. It is on a quiet public footpath between Uffington and Barholm villages with excellent pubs and great walks beyond. Perfect for reuniting with loved ones, friendship groups and multi family holidays in rural England. The space * New Listing July 2023 * Unwind and relax in this beautiful barn conversion. Stunning original features and stylish designs make a calming setting for quality time with family and friends. The self-catering accommodation offers 3 bedrooms (2 doubles, 1 single) and a sleeping gallery (2 twin beds, than can be made up as a double), hosting up to 7 guests in total. There is an adjacent property - The Lovenest at The Barn - with studio style accomodation for 2 more guests in one double bedroom, increasing capacity to 9 guests. The large kitchen has arched floor to ceiling windows and a glass door onto your outdoor space, a pretty paved area with a wooden table, seating, lawn and barbeque - please bring your own lump charcoal. It’s a great spot to relax and reconnect. The kitchen features a larder, aga, gas oven and hobs, microwave, fridge, sink and dishwasher. There is a large wooden kitchen table with seating for 9. Pass through double doors into the living area with comfy sofas, a woodburning stove and TV. Open sliding glass doors into the large double height Barn Room with a desk for flexible working, full length window and glass doors into gardens. Note this room is unheated so may not be comfortable to use October-April. For longer term bookings, the Barn Room offers extensive space for storing belongings and furniture. This may be useful to guests who may be between properties and want to avoid paying storage hire elsewhere. Above the living area is a loft-style sleeping gallery, with two single beds and privacy curtains. The single beds can be joined and made up as a double. As this is not an enclosed space, noise travels up from downstairs. Close the double doors into the kitchen and its suitable for sleeping. Most suited for older children and adults who are night owls/early risers. At the far end of the kitchen is a shower and WC as well as a laundry featuring airing cupboard, fridge, freezer, washing machine and hanging rail. Climb the staircase to two double bedrooms, one single bedroom (4ft bed) and an upstairs bathroom featuring bath, WC and sink. The single bedroom has an uncovered skylight so you may want to bring an eyemask. There is private parking for up to four cars and a shelter for storing bikes. There is free fibreoptic broadband internet connection with WiFi throughout. During the Summer season guests may use the unheated, uncovered swimming pool at times to be agreed with the owner. The owner lives in a building next to the swimming pool. The Barn gardens are bordered by fields and neighbouring 17th Century Casewick Hall, a private estate. There is abundant local wildlife; in addition to the resident free range chicken, look out for fallow deer, muntjac, red kites, owls, woodpecker and cuckoo. Bird song at dawn and dusk bookends the day. 100 miles north of London, The Barn is easily accessible 15 mins from the A1 / 10 mins from Stamford Station / 20 mins from Peterborough Station. Perched on the edge of the Fens, it's ideal for long range, relatively flat cycling - bring your own bikes. Guest access Guests enjoy all of The Barn building, the Kitchen Garden and lawn and the East Garden. There's also a bench with a garden view in the front North Garden. The Barn is bordered by paving stones and gravel, which guests can pass over. The private areas out of bounds are signposted in the garden. There is no access to the rest of the private estate of Casewick Hall buildings or gardens, please refer to the map provided in the printed welcome guide. Guests who trespass on neighbours private property may be asked to leave. Other things to note During the Summer season, guests may use the unheated pool at times to be agreed with the owner. The Aga is used for heating only, it is usually switched off during the Summer. There is a TrippTrapp highchair and travel cot (please bring your own cot bedding). Guests are advised to bring their own USB plug sockets for charging devices. The double height Barn Room is unheated, so it may not be comfortable to use Oct-Apr. We are unable to accept bookings where everyone is under the age of 26. Long stay bookings are welcome. Small gatherings for special events - such as intimate weddings, birthdays and anniversaries - are considered on an individual basis. Enquiries are welcome. There is a track at the edge of the East Garden that is used by the property owner to access her home on the grounds. The gardens require maintenance so sometimes there will be a gardener on site. When The Barn is booked by guests, the gardener avoids the areas that guests have access to.
