Pvt Rm in Charming N. Lamar Apt for Women & Guests

Description

Welcoming budget-friendly vegan home for women, couples, trans & nb guests. Located just off N. Lamar in central north Austin, close to all 3 major highways and an express bus stop, it's highly accessible to anywhere else in the city. Free parking available with online registration. Washer/dryer in apt. Comfy private bedroom with queen bed, couch, desk and tv with all streaming channels. Shared bathroom, kitchen, & living area with bonus extremely friendly German Shepherd named Lila. The space I live in one of the bedrooms of this 2nd floor 2-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment complex apartment. You will be staying in the other bedroom and sharing the rest of the spaces with me (and my dog Lila:). The room has a locking door (from the inside), queen bed, small sofa, 2 closets with hangers, TV with all streaming channels, desk and office chair for use as a workstation, or flip up the top to reveal a light up mirror and use as a vanity. You’ll have full, shared access to the living room, bathroom stocked with guest toiletries, dining room, washer/dryer, and kitchen, which in addition to all the regular amenities and dishwasher, has a quiet-blender, air fryer, chemex pour over coffee maker and is always stocked with ground coffee, sugar and non-dairy milk (bring your own dairy milk if desired), and some combination of vegan baked goods, fruit, and cereal that guests are welcome to for breakfast or a snack anytime. During your stay I will be generally around during your stay, usually found doing housework or cooking while listening to an audiobook with my noise canceling earphones (so you may have to wave to get my attention :) or possibly just watching tv in the living room. If I’m out and about I can always be reached through the app. Just know that while I do my best to provide a welcoming and friendly environment, and I am always willing to answer any questions or provide recommendations etc, I am a deeply introverted person whose home is generally fully booked, so I may not always have the bandwidth for conversation. Plus something REALLY exciting might be happening in my book, so don't take it personally if I keep putting my earphones back in - characters' lives may be at stake! Other things to note Because of the shared living space, I am currently limiting my guests to women, trans and nb folks, and their accompanying guests, i.e. no men traveling alone, with the exception of returning guests in good standing. Please state the gender of everyone in your party in your initial message. All adult members of your party will need to message me from their own profile and agree to the house rules before your stay. Unfortunately Airbnb doesn't allow you to add another guest's profile to your stay until after it's confirmed, but be prepared to do so immediately after confirmation, and make sure that your guest will be willing to agree to the rules. Another thing to note is that I have a variable sleep schedule, sometimes I’m an early bird and sometimes a night owl. I try to be as quiet as possible when others are sleeping, and past roommates and guests have assured me they weren’t woken, but if you’re a *very* light sleeper, it’s something to consider when booking. I meanwhile, am not a light sleeper and fall back asleep quickly so no need to worry about waking me if we’re on different schedules. I also have a German Shepherd named Lila. She can be overwhelming in her friendliness, especially when meeting new people. I ask guests to message me right before they come up so I can put her in my room while they bring in their stuff and get settled, and then to come out into the living room for an introduction, after which she's a bit calmer. She's a big dog with a long haired double coat. I wash her bi-weekly (the maximum recommended by my vet) and clean nearly everything in the apartment daily, but it's impossible to have a dog like that and completely avoid the smell of dog. If we come in from a walk on a wet day, guess what, the apartment's going to smell like wet dog for a minute, even though I dry her right at the entrance. She isn't allowed in the guest room, she's never been in it for longer than a second and I ask guests to help me by not rewarding her with attention if she goes in to say hi. But air moves through the apartment, through the vents even if the door is closed. I think the most prominent smells in my apartment are peppermint oil from my diffusers, coffee, baking and cooking smells, and my cleaning products which are scented with things like almonds and lime, but dog is an unavoidable ingredient in that mix, so if that's going to bother you, this might not be the best place for your stay.
