Description

The Menta cabin is designed for two people seeking peace and quiet. It has a double bed and a full bathroom. Inside, we have a coffee maker for your use and, as a courtesy, we offer coffee from the Pluma region. The semi-private terrace is designed for you to spend a day reading, meditating, sleeping or simply contemplating the tranquility of a place that is away from noise, pollution and everyday hustle and bustle. The space Menta is a mud cabin that uses an ancient construction method by which it is built using natural materials from the region, creating a less invasive space that is more integrated into the semi-rural environment of the small ranch that houses the Cabañas Polvo de luz, a peaceful place located in the small community of Rojas de Cuauhtémoc, 30 minutes from downtown Oaxaca, ten minutes from the El Tule tree and five minutes from the international highway that leads to the Mezcal Route, Teotitlán, Tlacolula, Mitla, Hierve el agua and many other beautiful places. It is a place where the predominant sounds are the birds that visit us or the meowing of the street cats that come at certain times to receive food. At your disposal you will find mats to lie on the grass, a hammock to swing in and tables to write on. We want you to disconnect your mind and enjoy the inner and outer silence during your stay. Guest access The Menta cabin is located inside a small farm where you'll also find our house, which is home to a couple (your hosts) and two kittens. There are also two other cabins on the same property. Several street cats come to the farm, which we gladly feed. We have opened a bookstore and cafeteria on the premises, which is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 pm to 9:30 pm, and on Sundays from 9 am to 7:30 pm. These days you can consume what we offer there and you may eventually come across customers who go to the bathrooms next to the cabin. Other things to note It is a small town of 1,000 inhabitants, services are limited, including the internet, we have a signal but it is not optimal, sometimes slow and intermittent. The access road to the property is not paved, but it is uniform and easily accessible. Public lighting is very dim. As it is a rural town, there are still houses with farms and stables where there are animals such as roosters, chickens, cows, sheep, pigs, horses, donkeys, mice, and so on. So it is not uncommon for the natural sounds and smells of these to reach the property. Although the bed has a mosquito net, it is important to consider the presence of insects: mosquitoes, flies, ants, bees, wasps and spiders are frequent, less frequent are bees and scorpions.
