"Grandpa's Cabin" Private Apartment near DOWNTOWN
Description
The rental space is a cozy basement Mother-in-Law apartment located about 10 blocks from the heart of Downtown Anchorage in the Fairview Neighborhood. Great for getting a good nights rest in the land of the midnight sun! The space The apartment has everything you need to feel at home including a full kitchen with breakfast foods, living room with flat screen TV and wifi internet access, Netflix, and DVDs; bedroom with one queen size bed with fresh white linens; bathroom with bathtub, shower, and shampoo. Guest access We have a FREE PARKING space available for you. We also have a LARGE YARD if you are traveling with kids! And you are welcome to utilize our GRILL and PATIO space as well. Other things to note Noise: *We do have a two young children and we live above the apartment. So you are likely to hear some activity from above. We try to keep quiet hours from 10pm-9am. Please let us know if you need it to be extra quiet at certain times of the day or night and we will try our best to accommodate. *Also this is an older home so the floor can be quite creaky. Short bathroom ceiling: The bathroom has a short ceiling. So if you're a tall person, you may have to crouch down a little in there. I'm 5'2" and there's plenty of room for me, but I think my 6' husband has to crouch down a little. The shower has extra head space though so you don't have to crouch down in there. Enter through the Rear Entrance: You will enter through our rear entrance (which has a deadbolt, and is its own little room), and then go downstairs to your space where there is a door, but it only has a slide lock on it-so you can lock it while you're inside of it only, not when you leave. Our house upstairs also has a door separating our home from the rear entrance. So you don’t have to enter our living space to get to your apartment. The rear entrance is a SHARED SPACE though, because it is how we get to our backyard. We welcome you to our home! And take a lot of care to make sure you are comfortable in your downstairs apartment. Kitchen fan/fire alarm: The fire alarm has been known to go off when people cook. If you turn on the fan on the bottom of microwave, the fire alarm won’t go off.
