Seahorse Cottage - Newbiggin by the Sea

Seahorse Cottage is a luxury cottage in the heart of Newbiggin by the Sea’s high street and conservation area, just 100 metres from the picturesque beach and promenade. Enjoy easy access to everything from this perfectly located home base. Surrounded by cafes and a few restaurants. We have a working stables behind us with some beautiful horses. The Cottage is furnished throughout to a high standard having been fully renovated by the current owners in 2023 and has a lovely deck area at the rear. The space The cottage is over 180 years old and has been fully renovated in 2023 retaining some of its historical charm. It isn’t ideal for younger guests or those less mobile due to the steps within the property on both levels and tiled floors. We also don’t provide any child safety or baby equipment. It is only about 100 metres from the beach. It is decorated throughout to a very high standard with lots of beautiful features like the exposed brick wall and original fireplace in the dining room, with wood burning stove (a small supply of wood and kindling is provided). These features contrast with the beautiful modern bathroom with luxurious bath tub and separate walk in shower and modern kitchen with dishwasher. It has two lovely bedrooms with Emma mattresses and blackout curtains. The living room has a 40 inch smart television with Sky Stream and Netflix where you can also log into your own Prime Video, Apple TV and Disney + accounts among others (please remember to log out). we also have an Xbox one and selection of games. We have a private deck area with barbecue and table and chairs that is lovely to sit out on in the evening sun. Please note that there is no washing machine and there are stairs and steps within the property on both levels. We are ideally located for the local Parkrun each Saturday at 9am. We do not charge a cleaning fee. Please take care when using the log burner and use the safety equipment provided and only if you are competent in their use. Guest access You have access to all of the property and deck at the rear. Other things to note Consideration should be given to the open plan aspect of the living room for guests travelling with very young children as we cannot have a stair gate at the bottom or top of the stairs. The cottage is around 170 years old and has a staircase and steps within the property so it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility. There also isn’t the facility to charge electric cars and we do not accept pets. The cottage is decorated for Christmas in December.
