Elderberry Eden - Nehalem Riverfront House
Description
River House! Right on the banks of the Nehalem with creeks on both sides. Our location is just a mile off of Hwy 26 & 22 miles from the coast Hwy 1. We have nicer weather here with swimming and fishing right on the property. Our location is close to neighbors and a small grocery, but once in the house you will be facing the river for fishing, swimming and lolling about. There is a little cottage that we live in so you might see my wife and I puttering around, but we respect your privacy. The space There are a couple of options for outdoor barbecues and lots of outdoor seating on the deck by the house and on the patio down by the river. Indoors we have two full-size living rooms in addition to the 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is large with a dining table that seats 8. Guest access You will have access to the entire house. If only two people are staying then we usually close the downstairs bedrooms, however the downstairs half-bath is still accessible. You will also have access to the great outdoors of course, but please watch your step as there are a lot of steep drop offs into the water! Please be advised that additional day-use guests are not allowed without prior approval. If you would like to invite additional guests for day use please just let us know as there will be a small fee. We have an absolute upper limit of 9 people including infants and kids. There is a little cottage about halfway down to the river that my wife and I sometimes stay in, so you might see us from time to time. Other things to note The WiFi connection is not quite broadband. It utilizes a cel phone chip and does OK, but not really up to the task of streaming movies, etc. Can be especially slow on weekends. Cellular phone service is pretty decent for T-Mobile, and just ok for Cricket, AT&T and Verizon. There is a general store just a mile from here that manages to stock a little of everything and has better cel reception. They also have a gas station, restaurant, lounge and inn. The Elderberry Inn is great if you have additional guests. Camp 18 is another good option for food just 4 miles west. Getting down to the river is a matter of walking down about 25 steps that feature a good sturdy handrail. There is a railing down there with another gate to access the river. Other areas of the property are fairly wild and can present risks for unattended children. There are some steep drop offs that are sometimes hidden by the brush, so please keep this in mind when exploring.
