Description

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Get away from it all when you stay under the stars and in the trees. This unique "birdhouse" screen room offers camping along the Suwannee River in natural Old Town, FL. The space Nestled on the banks of the Suwannee River, Nature’s Getaway is an eco-friendly, off grid camping experience. This campsite includes the screen room with 4 twin size beds. (note:due to covid No blankets available please bring your own.) This is an off-grid campsite with no electricity or air conditioning. There is solar lightning inside. There is running water in the bathroom with a flushing toilet and a shower. Enjoy fishing or just relaxing from the floating dock or take a short hike around the campsite. Nearby activities include Fanning Springs, Manatee Springs, Ichetucknee Springs, and Hart Springs to name a few. Most of these springs are a 25 - 40 minute drive from Nature's Getaway. The property is also accessible by canoe or kayak. This is a great stop if you are traveling on the Suwannee River Wilderness Trail. There are no kayaks to rent, but if you bring your own you can launch from Nature's Getaway and paddle down to Turner Point boat ramp (a 5minute drive) or even paddle down to Hart Springs (just a few miles) There are restaurants in Old Town, Cross City, Steinhatchee and other neighboring towns. In Fanning Springs, check out the Lighthouse Restaurant for seafood and a great salad bar. Cypress Inn offers a great breakfast in Cross City. The closest Walmart in in Chiefland, about a 30 minute drive, but there is a nearby Dollar General and grocery store in Old Town. This is a campsite so be prepared to bring extra linens, kitchen supplies, and other camping necessities. There is a fire pit with firewood (downed wood can also be gathered on site). There is a charcoal grill available as well as a table for preparing meals. Extra tent camping on site is available with prior permission. Guest access Guest are able to access the whole 5 acre property including the shared floating dock on the Suwannee River. We also have canoes to rent $25 a day. Turner boat ramp short distance for the camp. Bring your own boat. plenty of room to park a trailer. Other things to note Please call me when you are about 20 minutes away and I will be able to meet you at the cabin.
