The Mill House, Caldbeck

Our family home with only occasional letting, The Mill House is an old fulling mill (c. 1669) on the River Caldbeck in this peaceful, well served village. This semi detached property has been recently renovated, retaining beautiful period beams & fireplaces. On the Cumbria Way with fells, footpaths, bridleways & cycle routes from the doorstep. We are on the end of a quiet row of houses on a dead end road & a 2-3 min walk to the local pub, shop and cafes! Dog friendly. Guest access You’ll have the entire Mill House to yourself, with 3 private entrances - front, utility to rear and bi-fold doors to the patio. The driveway is also private and can easily accommodate 3 cars. The cottage next door is rented out and may have dogs visiting. Although there is a separate higher garden and entrance gate, as well as the riverbank on a lower level, please be aware that the garden is not fenced. If you have dogs, please supervise them when in the garden. Other things to note The garden is not fenced and has drop offs to a pond and further down drops off to the river. Likewise, the house is not toddler proofed. You are MORE than welcome to bring your infant under 2, but please be mindful of the safety aspects as we want you all to have a happy and safe stay. We have sheep and cows roaming the village freely - please do close all gates to the property as they will come in and make themselves known! To that end, please keep your dog under control and be aware that sheep may spring out of a hedge or across the road at any time.
