The airfield, 5km away from the town of Ihtiman, is in a large valley surrounded by the Balkan mountain, the northern slopes of Rila and the Iskar lake and nestled among beautiful sunflower fields. The airfield has 2 hangars and a dedicated office, accommodation and restaurant space. You will be spoiled for choice of activities available: tandem parachute jumps, gyroplane panoramic flights to the Seven Rila Lakes and many others in the air but also beautiful hiking trails in the vicinity. The space The guest bedrooms are on the second floor of the main hangar. There are 6 freshly renovated rooms: - 2 first class rooms with en suite bathrooms - 3 business rooms with double beds in each - 2 economy class rooms for groups with 4 double beds. Please note that the price quoted is for 1 person in an economy class room. The first and business class rooms are available to guests, subject to a small extra charge. You will be advised, after booking, how to upgrade your stay should there be availability and if you choose to do so. We can comfortably host a total of 16 people. All rooms are cosy and provide all the amenities needed: a desk to work, a wardrobe for clothes, night stand with reading light and stunning views of the runway and fields behind it. The bathroom is on the ground floor, unless staying in our en suite rooms. It is shared, well equipped, is only accessible to guests, not visitors, and has toilets and hot water showers available for use 24/7. There are 3 individual showers + toilets. Guests can use our restaurant "The Drop Zone" (Wednesday - Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00) for an unforgettable experience of enjoying food while parachutes and planes are landing in front of you. Our cook makes delicious home cooked food : please check the menu for the weekly offer. There is a dedicated private function room in the restaurant, which can be used for a home office set up. There are also vending machines for snacks and hot and cold drinks, which guests can access 24/7. We also have a spa zone with a jacuzzi and an outdoor 10m long swimming pool. Guests can use the spa and the swimming pool without extra charges. Guest access Ihtiman airfield is a working airport with daily flight movements. The airport welcomes small airplanes (Cessna, Pilatus, etc) during day light hours only. You will have access to all public outside and inside areas of the airfield. For the safety of all, you must respect at all times all instructions from our staff: stick to the zones designated for pedestrians, strictly comply with the smoking policy and only smoke at designated outside areas and do not access areas reserved for personnel. We have an iron cast zero tolerance policy for any safety violations so your sensible cooperation and full adherence to safety rules is non-negotiable. During your stay Security guards are present 24/7. Other airport staff is present from sunrise to sunset. Other things to note - there is fast and free Wi-Fi access for all guests at the airfield. - the laundry facilities are free for guests to use. Please speak to our staff. - there is a gas station for airplanes and vehicles that guests can use: we offer E10 / A95 gasoline, Jet A1 and Avgas 100LL. The airfield is guarded and our security personnel is present 24/7 so you can arrive at any time. We expect guests to vacate their rooms at 11:00 on their departure days. Ihtiman city is a 5 minute drive and has shops, restaurants, pharmacies and other services. A detailed guide will be provided on check in.
