Just 3 miles south of San Pedro (about 1.5 miles on sand/cobblestone roads). Is the house air-conditioned? Yes—bedrooms only, as is typical on the island. Common areas are cooled by Caribbean breezes and ceiling fans. Is there laundry? Yes—washer and dryer onsite. Is the beach swimmable? Yes! While there’s seagrass (essential for marine life), the dock has steps for easy water access. Is there a pool? Yes—a private pool with ocean views. Other things to note Air Conditioning Note: Like many island-style homes in Belize, Casa Amarillo offers air-conditioning in the bedrooms only. Electricity on the island is extremely costly, so to help keep our nightly rates affordable and our environmental impact low, we kindly ask guests to use the A/C mindfully. The living, kitchen, and dining areas are designed to be enjoyed with open windows and the refreshing Caribbean breeze. We recommend using the A/C only when you’re in the bedroom with the doors closed. In the evenings, you’re welcome to open bedroom doors for airflow—just please do so sparingly, as the system is intended for bedroom use only. On those extra hot, still days, we completely understand the need to cool down the space. If you choose to run the bedroom units with doors open to help cool the home, that’s okay—we simply ask that you turn them off when leaving the house or heading outdoors.
