This luxury home was designed in the colonial style with travertine counters, stone and iron details, and modern appliances, including a whole-home, state-of-the-art water purification system. Six stone fireplaces not only allow for heated comfort, but provide the utmost in ambience. Balconies and terraces extend your living space to the outdoors, with a rooftop terrace delivering panoramic views of the entire city, including local landmarks and the flowering roofs of San Miguel. At the ground level, a lovely path leads to a courtyard with tranquil pool, jacuzzi, and poolhouse. Off street parking. In addition to having a set of exterior stairs at the front of the house, there is secure, covered parking available via a private drive. The entry from the parking area is handicap accessible except for a small step from the driveway. All guests have access to WIFI, elevator, heat, and optional air conditioning. With regard to rooms: a lower level houses the family room with office space, two bedrooms with en suite baths, and a laundry room. The main level includes a living room, dining room, kitchen, and terrace. Stairs lead to an additional office space and an upper level with a third bedroom that features a private balcony as well as an en-suite bath. The rooftop offers seating space, dining space, and a gas grill if you decide to cook for yourselves. The owner does not live in Mexico, but there is a concierge on the property and the management company nearby. They are only a phone call away! LOCATION! LOCATION! LOCATION! Casa Amor a la Vida is located in the historic center of San Miguel and a comfortable stroll to the best dining around whether quaint local cuisine or premium continental fare. Walk four blocks to the Jardin, the city plaza where everyone shows up and everything happens. A few steps from the doorway is the Instituto with its murals, gorgeous views, and Gil Guitterez's Mi Casa restaurant. Art galleries, spa facilities, and shopping are also nearby. Stay in and enjoy a peaceful dip in the pool and relax in the jacuzzi. LUXURY GALORE We suggest flying into the airport in Leon or Guanajuato and having a driver pick you up. (We can recommend a service.) If you choose to have a car, there is private, covered parking accessible from a gated driveway. The home is handicap accessible except for a small step from the driveway. From the house, walking is the most common way to reach the various restaurants and sites. As an alternative, taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. There is a concierge on site who is available to answer questions and provide help during the day. Although we do not anticipate you will have any problems, our management company is also easy to contact and very responsive to whatever issue might arise. The housekeeper, Miguelina, comes three times a week and for a nominal extra fee will shop and cook basic meals. WHAT TO DO Everything is within walking distance of Casa Amor a la Vida. Take a stroll to gourmet foodie shops, art galleries, clothing and furniture stores. Flower markets and public gardens are also nearby. Restaurants of every type--from coffee shops and taquerias to five-star dining--are all just a stroll away. The Rosewood Hotel is three blocks away and offers day rates for spa and pool as well as first class restaurants. The Jardin, a thriving public square is four blocks away, and iconic buildings such as the Instituto are steps from the front door. You can take in a movie at the Pocket Theater, where for the price of a ticket you get not just the film, but also popcorn and a cocktail! Schedule a trip to the hot springs or to a winery, or drive out to Zanduga to hear world-class musicians and eat yummy local fare served up in an outdoor ranch setting.
