Stylish spot in chic St. Hanshaugen!
Description
This spacious corner unit is surrounded by landscaped grounds including a sycamore colonnade and water feature. Stroll four minutes through Idioten park to your morning coffee at Åpent bakery and hop on the bus or tram to get anywhere fast. Relax after a busy day at Michelin-guide Geita resto just one block from home—and wind down with a glass of bubbly in the bath. Enjoy the full kitchen, balcony, bathtub, and massage table. Welcome to your ultra-convenient yet quiet, sunlit oasis. ❤️ The space This is a large one bedroom with balcony and extensive outdoor spaces. It’s in a postwar building on the private grounds of three late-19th Century manors. One side looks out onto a green space bordered by a private clay tennis court (not available after Sep. 1) while the other faces the manor and water feature (complete with water nymph!). The third looks out at a neighboring postwar building alongside a small landscaped sycamore colonnade. We are very ‘grammable, indeed. The bedroom is mid-sized and includes a large window with blackout blind, closet and shelving space. The double mattress is new top-end IKEA (is that an oxymoron? Let’s say it isn’t. The bed is super comfy!) and a weighted blanket available upon request. If you get lonely, just grab the reindeer hide (purchased in Finnmark) hung artfully on the wall. There’s no snuggles like reindeer snuggles. The heated floor bathroom has been recently remodeled and I include a variety of spa amenities (candles, bath salts, hair treatments and skin creams), as well as more mundane hygiene items like handmade French soap and shampoo and conditioner. You are welcome to use my hair dryer and to help yourself to a sleep mask if you’re working through jet lag. The living room/dining area is spacious and gets light from two directions, as well as the balcony. You can eat outside or at my small (4 seat) dining table. The room is clean and elegant, decorated with objets d’art from Finland, Spain, France, Japan, etc. I love Norway’s tradition of beautiful handmade decor and I hope you do, too. The kitchen has also been recently remodeled with an induction stove, new fridge and dishwasher (both hidden as cupboards—it bears exploring!) and a small standing desk/elevated stool workspace. I like to perch here and plug into the day on my laptop while sipping a coffee from one of my two Italian stovetop coffee makers (there’s a French press as well!). I have a collection of vintage Scandinavian mugs because they are the coziest thing in the world. Grab one and enjoy a coffee or choose from a selection of caffeinated and herbal teas. I offer a small bottle of champagne to guests when they arrive. Please let me know if you prefer not to have alcohol visible during your stay. The apartment is on the first floor (up a small flight of 6 stairs) and is easily accessible by bus (the number 37 is one block away) and tram (Adamstuen stop). Parking is usually available in the surrounding streets. Oh, and the living room? That’s where the massage table lives. The massage caddy includes a strangely effective neck massager machine, candles, massage oil, a weighted eye pillow, and aromatherapy items. Welcome to Oslo. Get your rejuvenation on! Xoxo Sophia Other things to note I’ve put my whole heart into making this space a welcoming and artistic abode. I love hosting clean and (relatively!) quiet guests who enjoy a beautiful space.
