Description

Cedar Cottage is a self catering, cosy cottage backing on to a forest, ideally situated and central to north, east and west coasts of the Scottish Highlands and the NC500, 3 miles from Bonar Bridge, 7 miles from Lairg in the county of Sutherland. Open plan fully equipped kitchen diner, 3 bedrooms, one with en suite, central heating, open fire (wood only), ample parking, fast fibre Broadband and wifi. Perfect location for many outdoor activities. Not suitable for young children. No pets. The space Cedar Cottage is cosy but deceptively bigger in the inside than it looks from the outside. The original part of the cottage is to the front with additional space added to the back over the years. There is a fully equipped kitchen/diner, one bathroom with power shower and bath, one double bedroom, one bedroom with king size zip link bed which can be divided into 2 single beds and a further single bed, allowing for 3 sharing this room if required. Hallway with workspace and hanging unit for coats and footwear. This leads to the cosy living room with open fire. There is a further third double bedroom with en suite shower room and a front storm porch. There is a designated smoking room accessed separately from outside with seating for 2. Heating is oil central heating with pressurised water cylinder and constant hot water. Guest access Large parking area. Guests have access to secure bike storage in locked garage on request. There is a designated smoking area with seating for 2. Other things to note Wildlife is in abundance especially the iconic red squirrel. The Highlands are the red squirrels' stronghold and there is a healthy population in the forest a short distance away behind Cedar Cottage. They have found and been emptying a feeder, recently put up, just behind Cedar Cottage and visible from the kitchen window, this area will be developed for photography purposes with enough distance not to scare them away. There are mountain bike trails, bike hire, fishing, walking, golf courses, distilleries, canoeing, waterfalls and beautiful scenery all within easy travelling distance from the cottage. Ideal for wildlife and landscape photography. Northern Lights, aurora borealis, when conditions are favourable, can be seen from the front and back of Cedar Cottage and many other locations in close proximity. Your host would be happy to advise on best locations and whether there is activity. Registration Details HI-00192-F
