The Apartment is full of light and colours. It has lovely domed "Boveda" ceilings. The kitchen has all our guests need to cook a wonderful meal and sit outside in their own covered patio and read a book in their private daybed and sitting area. A wonderful, sunny, one bedroom apartment in an artist's house in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. fantastic view of the town and valley from a sunny terrace. private patio. Wi-fi internet. quiet neighborhood and close to historical center. Fully stocked kitchen. full washroom with shower. Private shady day bed and sitting area just outside kitchen area. Sunny common patio with outdoor charcoal grill. Apartment has balconies to the street and a Juliet balcony overlooking house's patio. The common areas include a great patio with sitting area overlooking the town and the valley. Great sunsets and storms approaching. A lookout rooftop above the art studio, great for hanging out in the shade of the bamboo dome and read a book and feel the breezes. Large grocery store half a block away. Close to everything San Miguel has to offer. The Santa Julia bus stops at the corner of our street. Our guests can enjoy wonderful sunsets from the terrace, where we often join them for a glass of wine and music. The nest (see photos of bamboo structure) is also a wonderful place to sit and read book and watch the entire town below. It has a 360 degree view. We want our guests to enjoy their privacy while they stay at Casa las Palomas, but we find that since Joyce and I love to meet all the wonderful people that come to stay with us; we often gather at the terrace in the evenings , for the spectacular sunsets. We also love staying and and cooking simple but tasty meals from great local food and we often invite our guests to join us. Cooking is best when shared with friends, a glass of wine and good conversation. Also, first time visitors to San Miguel join us in our daily walks to the centro and sometimes sit with us at the cafes, where we can talk about the many wonderful things to see and visit. We love our neighbourhood ! It has a vibrant community feeling. Children playing on the streets, lots of grocery stores, butchers, and bakers at hands reach. Our immediate neighbours are both Mexican and American and they are all lovely and friendly people. There is even a 50 seat run theatre called The Shelter Theatre, run by a Canadian and Mexican couplewhere every tuesday there is an open mike evening. The Santa Julia bus comes from the Jardin (the main plaza), passes by at the corner of the street. I take it home sometimes, when I have been walking all day and my feet are screaming at me. I like the bus, because each driver is always playing their own taste in music, and most times the bus has great friendly energy. Some guests have asked us about the fountain in our courtyard. They ask about how much noise it makes. It is just a trickle. It is set up on a timer and it shuts off at 10 pm.
