Other things to note The immediate neighborhood has numerous small businesses and shops, including a convenience store, Drycleaners, pet shop, gourmet grocery, coffee shop, ice cream parlor, hardware store and various small grocery stores. There is also a "farmer's" market on Fridays from 8 AM to 3 PM (on a street that is closed off during those hours) and a daily (indoor) farmer's market open every day. The daily market also has a florist, fishmonger and butcher. Larger grocery stores and shopping centers are not far, and there are also numerous local restaurants located nearby. The property is located in the prestigious residential area of Rancho Cortes, which is secluded, but also conveniently close to the highway. It is located 1 hour from Mexico City, 2.5 hours from Acapulco, 1 hour from the “silver city” of Taxco (a Mexican version of Sienna), 30 minutes from Tepoztlan (a Mexican version of Santa Fe), 1 hour to the ruins and pre-Columbian archeological site at Xochicalco and 40 minutes to both “Grutas de Cacahuamilpa” National Park (which is renown for having one of the largest cave systems in the world) and the “Parque de las Estacas” water park (where the original Tarzan movies with the actor Johnny Weissmueller were filmed).Cuernavaca has numerous golf clubs, excellent restaurants and museums and a tennis club. There are numerous haciendas in and around Cuernavaca, including several built by Hernan Cortes. A former palace of Hernan Cortes located in downtown Cuernavaca is now a museum near the city's center main square ("plaza"). Also located downtown are the Borda Gardens & Estate ("Jardin Borda"), inspired by Versailles, built in the 18th century and used by Emperor Maximilian and Empress Carlota of Mexico as a summer residence. The former home of the late Woolworth heiress Barbara Hutton is now a five-star hotel called “Sumiya” and is located 15-20 minutes from the property. The estate was built in the Japanese style and modelled after a Shogun mansion. This is a great place for meals and/or drinks. The renown Las Mañanitas Hotel Garden Restaurant & Spa, a Relais & Chateaux Hotel Group property, has been in Cuernavaca since the 1950s and is a "must visit" spot with peacocks roaming lush gardens.
