Casa El Cardon, a Centenario Home with a View
Casa El Cardon, a Centenario Home with a View
Description
Casa El Cardon The name does not come by chance. The Casa is in the middle of an ancient cactus field, surrounded, as is traditional in Mexico, by a high wall. And it gets covered, how can it be otherwise, by a huge sombrero. It is responsible for the shading of the large roof and viewing terrace, from the glistening sun of Baja California. The space Enter the grounds through a classic Mexican Puerta, an automatic wooden driveway gate, or a separate door. Private driveway and private enclosed parking. Behind traditional Palo de Arco wooden fencing, there are small gardens on three sides of the house. Both bedrooms and the living room have access to the garden through generous sliding doors with fly screens. Here you will find loungers, a fountain, the heaviest table in Mexico, ancient cactus and not so old palm trees. After entering the house you are in the large living and dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped, large LG stove and good size LG fridge. No dishwasher, in Baja Sur dishes are rinsed by hand and dried on the cactus. In the living area, you find two comfortable sofas, a 45" smart TV with Netflix and alternative view into the garden. From here, orders can be placed by hand in the kitchen. From here, the first bathroom with toilet is directly accessible from the adjoining hallway. The small corridor leads to the two bedrooms, each about 13 square meters. Each bedroom has its own sun terrace and a really big, built-in wardrobe. In addition, one bedroom has its own private bathroom, accessible only from within. All bedrooms have Wi-Fi, ceiling fans and air conditioning. Ceiling fans are also installed in the kitchen and living room as well. The real highlight is the roof terrace. It is accessed over a large spiral staircase in the garden. The really generous roof area is covered by a large Palapa, a Mexican palm-leaf saddle roof. The fringes blow gently in the wind. There is always a leisurely breeze up here and the 360 degree panoramic view is fantastic. La Paz and its bay are within your reach. From up here you can, but only very carefully, touch a hundred-year-old cactus at the top and feel it move slightly in the wind despite its size. Sufficient seats are available, a bar with sink and hammock. One washes and the others watch. Afterwards the sundowner with a view of the lights of La Paz in evening silence, the unrest of the city does not penetrate that far. Occasionally, a cardinal bird, an eagle or even an owl can be heard screaming. The soft whisper of the cactus from midnight on, can only be heard with really good ears. Guest access To all things described above, in addition, the shared use of the pool is possible. It is just a few steps from the front door, in the courtyard of the host's private residence. There is also the possibility of a courtesy pick-up service from the La Paz airport. This is done in direct consultation with the host. Please note: A refundable Key & Gate Remote Control deposit of $3,500.00 Pesos will be applied. Other things to note Other people live here in the neighborhood as well, so the guests behavior need to accommodate this, no loud parties or other behavior that will disturb the neighborly peace. Respect for the environment, the Baja Sur is a wonderful landscape, enough spinners have done mischief here, we do not.
