Footprints, named for the various animal tracks present in the surroundings, now hosts a protected area full of wildlife, particularly in the neighboring lagoon. The space Footprints is a special place, and a labour of love for Akila who found this place 13 years ago. He has slowly and thoughtfully developed the site which is made up of two rustic wooden cabins, which each have two rooms. There are two family/triple rooms located on the second floor of one building, providing beautiful views towards the surf break and surrounding jungle. There are further two double rooms, with a beautiful deck where you can sleep out under the stars, if you like. We also offer tents to camp on the beach and wake up with the sunrise and the sound of waves. Beach Tent - your room has a beach view and is located below the pine trees on a soft send. Bed sheets and pillows are provided. There is a shared toilet and an outdoor shower for you to use. The site is fully off-grid, so we are careful to use electricity mindfully - depending on the weather this may mean that there is no power between around 10pm and 8am. But we have torches and candles to make sure you can enjoy your evenings here. Of course, you can also take the opportunity to watch a sky full of stars with no light pollution at all. Footprints offers a very simple way of living and an opportunity to take things slowly, reconnect with nature and be mindful of our impact on the world around us. Guest access At the heart of Footprints is a communal kitchen and dining area, where you can eat, chill, watch the waves, or chat with Akila or one of the friendly caretakers who help out around here. This central community space is surrounded by a sandy garden with many native trees and plants, which all have a purpose - either in terms of biodiversity, or to be used in our kitchen in the delicious food available at Foorprints. The garden is visited by all sorts of beautiful birds and other wildlife. From the upper floors you may be lucky enough to spot leopards and elephants in the surrounding jungle. It is a short walk through the pine trees to the beach, where you can find our perfect surf break or just take a walk, climb the rocks and take it all in.
