Built in 1844, our Hudson Valley Greek Revival with Italianate elements has been completely renovated, with speedy internet and a beautiful kitchen. Four separate bedrooms, four full baths, and two sleeper sofas. The grounds are huge, with a pool, hot tub, gas grill, and patios. The whole Village is walkable, and Diamond Mills with Black Barn restaurant is a 5 minute walk, as is the Esopus Creek. HITS is a 6 min drive. Skiing at Hunter is 20 miles - about 30 minutes! The living space is on the main floor, which has high ceilings and large windows throughout. The kitchen is freshly renovated and fully-equipped, including a dishwasher, gas range, pots, pans, utensils, wine glasses, etc. Adjoining the kitchen with breakfast bar is a family room with a large tv, a sleeper sofa, and two big, comfortable chairs. On the other side of the house is a long living room and dining room, extending from the front to the back of the house. The dining table easily seats 8, with a view over the back patio. Behind the kitchen is a mud room and a large full bathroom with a heated floor, and behind the mudroom is a den with a kitchenette, sleeper sofa, small table and TV. The bedrooms are upstairs, along with a separate laundry room. The primary bedroom has a super-comfortable king bed and its own dressing room and en suite bathroom (also with a heated floor). The dressing room has a workspace with a desk and chair, should you need to work away from other guests. Two other bedrooms are on the second floor, one with a queen bed and the other with two twin beds. They share another bathroom with a stand-up shower. A fourth bedroom with a queen bed is above the den, with its own en-suite bathroom. Outside the rear of the house is a stone patio with a gas grill and outdoor dining set, with its own enclosed yard. And freshly installed is a brand new 6-person hot tub. Walking back through rhododendrons and evergreen trees you'll reach the gigantic backyard with a large pool. The pool is (as of now) unheated, but the heater should be installed for next season - write me for an update if you are interested! There is additional outdoor furniture in the backyard. You will have access to the whole main house and the entire grounds. Note that there is an apartment over the detached garage: airbnb.com/h/saugertiescarriagehouse . If rented separately, the carriage house apartment does not have access to the pool and hot tub, although some of the windows overlook the back yard and pool. But you can rent the whole compound for a large group! We welcome dogs, but please do reach out to me first if you would like to bring yours. Unfortunately we cannot host cats due to allergies. Rainy day? Then you can use the Nintendo Switch or challenge your kids to the original Mario Brothers on the mini classic NES system! Of course there are also board games, puzzles, and books galore. Do you like to ski or board? Hunter is only 30 minutes! Windham and Belleayre are only a bit farther. When you get home, throw your boots on the 6-pair heater that will be installed in the garage by the time the season starts (write me to confirm!), and start a fire in the dining room. Or take a quick walk over towards one of the many restaurants and bars on Main and Partition Streets. No need to drive! The Catskills are often called the birthplace of American fly-fishing. The warm-water lower Esopus is only a 5-minute walk, so if you'd just like to grab a mug of coffee and throw a quick line in the water in the morning, you can easily do so - I can provide spinning gear.
