We’ve been hosting for 12+ years and recently swapped for a new larger property; all new furnishings, 2023. If anything smells like smoke, unfortunately, we will have to charge you for damages which will total much more than the deposit fee (could be all new carpet, paint bedding, and furniture). Minimum fine for smoking will be $1,500 but could be more per the above comments. *On the subject of smells, please be considerate and refrain from cooking pungent, spicy foods and/or smelly seafood just prior to check out. While many people love the smell of those foods, many do not and we don’t enjoy complaints by new guests on items that were caused by past guests. All pets must be cleared prior to booking. Our HOA has rules and so do we. If we find out that you bring/brought a pet without permission we will have to charge you for additional cleaning fee, any damages, as well as the revenue lost by having to cancel the stays beyond your visit—to get these items addressed. Other things to note When you book, per HOA requirement, you must submit names and phone numbers of guests 18 years and older as well as car makes/models and license plates. This has to be done in a timely manner. If you are renting a car and don’t have that info just let us know. The HOA rules and regulations manual will be in the home but can be emailed to you in advance upon request. 6 adult maximum- Scottsdale occupancy limit. All related dependant children OK. Suggestions appreciated. Anything considered an opinion will be considered most-likely after you leave weighing whether most of our other guests would agree (pillows too soft or pillows not soft enough.) While we love acting as concierge for questions that may arise and we love pointing you to the best restaurants, shopping and golf courses, please note that this a vacation home, not a hotel. Occasional “joys of home ownership” may come up where we need to use our home warranty to have a little surprise fixed. Take heart that a lot of our appliances, our AC, and roof are all quite new. If something does need to be fixed we will do our best to work around your vacation schedule; flexibility and patience is appreciated because it can take a business day or two to get on someone’s schedule. Workers have many properties they attend to; not just ours plus have a commute time of 30 min or more. They arrange their schedule for it to make sense on their dime. Again this is not a hotel; it’s a home and getting things fixed can take just as long as it would at your home. You are more than welcome to grab your valuables and resume vacation as planned. We can let workers in with the code (and if you are wanting to change the code for peace of mind afterwards that’s fine too). Minor bumps and bruises will likely not be addressed because this is a rental and that comes with the territory. Lastly, we love children and have 3 of our own however if your children are prone to excessive screaming during the day or night this might not be a good fit. We have lovely neighbors who need to be able to think straight during the day and/or be able to sleep. They will call the police if it sounds like someone is in danger. Thanks
