Guest access The village and its beautiful nature that surrounds it, still remain mostly untouched from the tourist development. This area is ideal for off the beaten track excursions. It’s also ideal place for hiking where natural lovers can enjoy the mountain air and the wild vegetation. Just outside of the village is the Monolitho’s castle, a Venetian Castle which was built by the Knights of Rhodes in 1480 A.D. to protect the area from pirates and enemies. The Castle is today ruined but you can reach the top on foot and visit the chapel of Saint Panteleimon. Due to the dominant location of the castle, the view is breathtaking. Close to the castle is Fourni beach, a quiet, isolated, sand and pebbles beach with natural surroundings, ideal for naturists. There is a small canteen that sells refreshments and light snacks but there are no touristic facilities. Nearby is the Alyki beach, a secluded little bay for those who like their privacy. The well-known Prassonissi beach is at about 30 km to the south.
