LOCATION + AMENITIES! One-of-a-kind Twain Harte home w/ lake access, private pool/hot tub on property - 5-min walk to town! Renters have access to owner’s Twain Harte Lake (a gem!) membership during summer stays. In winter months, 25 mins to ski resort and enjoy the wood-burning fireplace and hot tub upon your return. House stocked with supplies, everything you could need in the kitchen, kids toys, games, books, and baby equipment. Plentiful spaces to enjoy Twain Harte, rest, play, eat and work. The space Charming, one-of-a-kind home with beautiful touches throughout. In addition to being the only home in Twain Harte with its own pool (available in warmer months) and a five minute walk to downtown, our renters have access to the members-only Twain Harte Lake during their summer stay and can enjoy the property’s beautiful, large and shady front and back yards, multiple outdoor seating and eating areas under peaceful trees, and an in-ground pool and hot tub on the deck. The house sleeps 8-9 comfortably (1 queen, 2 doubles, 2 twins, 1 permanent toddler bed) and is fully equipped with additional baby/toddler equipment if needed, including an additional toddler mattress and an infant crib as well as other baby equipment. The house is very-well stocked as the owner's own family vacation home with kids toys and games (as well as adults!), and most kitchen/serving items anyone would require. If you love the house but need more beds, check out our guest house next door, which is listed as a separate rental. If it’s available, you can book both and sleep an additional 3-4 people - the main home is plenty large enough to entertain all guests. Please enquire about booking our next door guest house! More Property Info: The property has a huge footprint with very large front and back yards with plentiful spaces to rest, play, eat and work. We've added little touches throughout to create that special Twain Harte magic that both kids and adults can enjoy (think swings for the kids and little log seating areas; think peaceful outdoor respite areas for the grownups). The inside common areas are good-sized and offer great space to have meals together, play games or veg in front of the multiple Smart TV areas. Also special to the property, our renters are able to get into the private Twain Harte Lake on our membership (summer months only). This lake is the reason we bought in Twain Harte - you must come see! Twain Harte is magic and our home is in one of the best, most peaceful and most walkable neighborhoods proximal to all downtown Twain Harte has to offer. The street has many full-time and part-time residents with great neighbors and pretty properties to stroll by all under the big trees. Our home is a quick walk to all downtown Twain Harte eateries, bars and activities and a 25 minute drive to Pinecrest Lake/Dodge Ridge for skiing, with other lakes for boating and fishing nearby. Come enjoy all Twain Harte has to offer (the town boasts an executive golf course, mini golf, bars, restaurants, shops, private lake and local events and activities year-round) with easy access to amazing hiking/biking trails and all activities in the great outdoors both winter and summer. ***Things to know before booking***: - While you can have a great time on our property, this is not a party house! We prefer to rent to families or couples or responsible groups of people who will treat our home as their own. We welcome fun, BBQs, pool/spa parties, apres ski, cocktails and the like - we just prefer that you pass our property by if you'll be bringing a very rowdy group or people who don’t care about respecting property. We and our neighbors will thank you! - If you like all things modern and sleek, this property may not be for you! (Please see photos). We bought this 1943 house in its charming state and have done everything possible to preserve that including adding our own country chic flair to it. There are many special family items and antiques in the house which we hope our renters will respect - this ties back to not wanting a rowdy group of partiers in our home! -The property has multiple desk and seating areas to work in a quiet space. The house has high-speed internet and streaming on multiple TVs (it is rare that these amenities go out, and if they do, we do not offer refunds while the solution is being worked on). - You assume all risk for using our pool and spa - as noted in our rental agreement. Please swim responsibly and watch children at all times. Importantly, please note that the pool can be fenced off if desired by closing the gates at the top of the stairs off the back porch (the only access points to the pool). Great option for families with young children! - The house is fully stocked as we often use the property ourselves. This means pretty much anything you could need in the kitchen as well as shelves full of movies, games and books, many of them collectibles and special to our family. We hope you enjoy, keep everything in the (reasonable) condition you found it in, and please leave everything at the house. Thank you in advance! - No fires outside - no exceptions. The area is too high fire risk to allow outdoor fires. Thank you for honoring this rule. - The indoor wood-burning fireplace may be used but we ask guests to follow our instructions exactly (to be shared) and to bring their own supplies - we recommend oak or cedar, please not pine (it smokes up the house!). - We have an outdoor BBQ available and do not guarantee propane but feel free to use it if available and please let us know if it’s empty. You can easily fill the propane tank at the Ace in town if needed. If using the charcoal side no propane is needed (please bring own charcoal). PLEASE clean off the grill plates after use. - We generally prefer not to welcome pets to our property, however, we may consider allowing one well-behaved and house-broken dog only under special circumstances (a $150/trip fee would apply). - This is a house in the mountains and things can change quickly! A storm can sweep in (not likely in the summer), you may see cobwebs pop up overnight and there may be some observed weathering on our house from time to time as it survives any elements. We do not offer reimbursement for unforeseen events that may occur during your stay such as a snowstorm, heavy rains or a minor power outage. It’s very unlikely that any of this would impede your stay. If, however, the house cannot be accessed due to heavy snows at the property we do offer refunds on those reservations regardless of our rental policies. Guest access We have keyless entry and you will be provided with your own unique code upon the start of your trip. Guests will have full access to the property’s main home, front and back yards, including pool/spa/large deck and patio areas. We have a completely separate next door guesthouse where others guests may choose to stay - if you are interested in more beds, you can book the guest house as well, if available - please enquire! The garage and downstairs guest house are closed off to both rental areas and where we keep many of our personal items. There is a large driveway with plenty of room for all! Other things to note We ask guests to sign off on our rental agreement (to be emailed) within 24 hours of booking that outlines house rules and releasing us of any liability regarding the property and usage of its pool and spa. Additionally, we will ask guests to purchase a nominal accidental insurance policy (currently at $27) that will cover up to $1,500 of accidental damage that may incur during your stay. Lastly, a few days before your reservation we will place a security deposit HOLD only on your credit card of $500. We have only had to keep any portion of this once due to guests causing significant damage that was not accidental on the property and disregarding a number of our house rules, causing major inconvenience and extra work to us as the owners. Typically the hold is released five days following your reservation ending if not before.
