Here in the quiet Frisian Rohel, you can really be outside, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin. Cycling and walking along the meadows and (cold) swimming in the Tjeukemeer. Drink a glass of wine on the terrace by the water, with the view of infinity, under the old fruit trees in the garden. Apart from the sounds of birds, the rustling of the wind and in the distance a tractor, you hear nothing at all here. The sunsets can be amazingly beautiful here. The space SUSTAINABLE and PEACEFUL We, Cornelis and Nienke, built this house all by ourselves with second-hand building materials. A lot of love has been put into it! And hopefully you'll feel that when you stay here. The "Groene Huisje" is located on a green plot, with old (fruit) trees, on a wide ditch, overlooking a farmland. The Frank en Vrijhof is a quiet, green and non-commercial recreational park, with a special history. It is quiet and usually peaceful here. And the friendly regular holidaymakers greet each other and like to have a chat. LIVING ROOM: The house is actually not a "tiny house", it is too big for that with its 66m2. The living room in particular feels spacious, through the glass rear facade, overlooking the farmland and the Frisian cloudy sky. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook extensively. This makes the house also suitable for a longer stay. And here you will also find tea towels, dish towels, dishwashing liquid, but also coffee, tea, olive oil, the most important herbs, etc. In addition to being able to look at the Frisian landscape in the living room, there is also a TV with Netflix and an amplifier with Bluetooth. Super fast fiber optic internet is available. The 3-person sofa and armchair are wonderful; with a blanket on your lap, this is the ultimate place to drink a glass of wine. 2 BEDROOMS: The two bedrooms are cozy and both have a lot of closet space. In the large bedroom there is a double bed (140x200cm) and in the smaller bedroom there is room for 2 guests (bed 1: 80x190 cm and bed 2 70x180cm). Of course, all bedding and use of towels are included. BATHROOM and TOILET The tiny bathroom is compact and complete! A nice warm, clean shower, toilet and a sink with storage possibilities. OUTSIDE The house is "framed" with wooden decks, where you can sit dry in most places during a light rain shower. On the terrace by the water, you can relax for hours and enjoy the phenomenal view. At the front of the house is a driveway, suitable for 2 cars (other cars may NOT be parked on the path). In the shed, you will find the washing machine and dryer, and there are 3 bicycles that may be used. Own bicycles can also be stored here. AREA: Even before arrival, we will send a comprehensive file with lots of local tips. Museums, bike rides, playgrounds, tips for renting a boat or SUP board. We also share our favorite restaurants and tips for city trips. Guest access All rooms including the shed Other things to note IMPORTANT TO KNOW: • The garden is not fenced and is located on a deep ditch. Although children are more than welcome, this is something to keep in mind. • The maximum speed in the street is SLOW. Maximum 10 km per hour. • Non-smoking house • No pets • No parties or (many) visitors. • Other people also come here for their peace of mind ;) So no loud music or noise. • The hosts are always available by phone and live nearby. • With 4 guests, the lower smaller bed can be extended. • The cottage may also be available for longer rentals through AirBnB. • Super fast fiber optic internet and Netflix • The land behind the house is usually grassland, but very occasionally corn or grain is grown on it. • For the warm days of the year, we have mosquito nets, mosquito spray, lights, etc. against the mosquitoes.
