The space Nestled on the edge of the beautiful Vallis Vale forest, this spacious family home offers a peaceful countryside escape just minutes from the vibrant town of Frome. Set within a quiet hamlet surrounded by nature, it’s the perfect base for families, groups of friends, or anyone looking to slow down and enjoy Somerset life. The house comfortably sleeps families and groups across four bedrooms, including three double bedrooms and a children’s room with a double bunk bed and single bed. The rooms are generous in size, with one en suite bathroom, a shared family bathroom upstairs, and an additional WC downstairs. Outside, the large half-acre garden is a real highlight. In the summer months, guests are welcome to enjoy produce from the vegetable beds as everything ripens, relax in the hammock beneath the trees, or gather around the fire pit on long summer evenings. The garden includes a small orchard with apple, plum, pear and mulberry trees, alongside friendly hens and our resident peahen — details that make the space feel especially magical for children and nature lovers alike. We are a family of five ourselves, so the house is thoughtfully set up for family stays, with plenty of space both indoors and out for children to play and adults to unwind. The location is wonderfully unique — a stone’s throw from Vallis Farm and its activities and amenities, while still feeling secluded and peaceful. Frome town centre, known for its independent shops, cafés, markets and creative atmosphere, is just a 5-minute drive away or a scenic 30-minute walk through the surrounding countryside. The charming village of Mells is only 5 minutes away, and Babington House can be reached in around 10 minutes, making the house an ideal base for weddings, weekends away, and countryside gatherings. Whether you’re looking for woodland walks straight from the door, slow afternoons in the garden, or easy access to some of Somerset’s most loved spots, this is a special place to stay. There is parking available on site and beautiful woodland walks directly from the doorstep into Vallis Vale forest. Please note that as this is our family home, some cupboards and storage areas will remain private. Other things to note The garden is home to a small flock of hens and a resident peahen, and guests are very welcome to enjoy fresh eggs when available. As this is a countryside home, you may occasionally encounter wildlife, uneven ground in the garden, and muddy paths after wet weather. Children should be supervised around the animals, pond and fire pit. The house is our family home rather than a dedicated holiday rental, so it has a warm, lived-in feel and is especially well suited to families and relaxed countryside stays.
