It's a good idea to come from the airport by Uber or Airport Taxi, but already in the Historic Center you can walk. The metro station Zócalo is 4 blocks away and from there comes the Turibús; tourist bus that will take you around the city. At night, if you go far, take an Uber. Mexico City's Historic Center is a magical place. There the Aztec empire had its most important settlement (Templo Mayor), and also inhabited Hernán Cortés, Moctezuma, the Catholic Inquisition and an important part of the history of humanity.
