Tawelfa Quiet Snowdonia Cottage
Description
Explore Eryri (Snowdonia) from this charming and contemporary base where our favourite walks, climbs & bike rides are less than a ten minute drive away. A traditional Welsh stone cottage, Tawelfa is the ideal location for either a fabulous family holiday or a romantic couples ‘escape from it all’… The whole group will enjoy easy access to everything from this centrally located place. With a huge list of activities to keep you busy during your stay, Snowdonia truly is an incredible playground! The space Tawelfa has been recently fully renovated to a high standard whilst maintaining the character and the original charm, set a stone’s throw away from Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Built around 1890, Tawelfa used to be part of the Saron chapel buildings combined with neighbouring Llys Llewelyn. A small doorway was revealed during the renovation joining the now two houses together. Bethel sits on an elevated area and enjoys glorious sunsets and mountain views from the local playing field. Being located a little further away from the mountains benefits from better weather when the clouds descend over the peaks. Bethel also sits on a main road B4366 between Groeslon Ty Mawr and Caernarfon with easy access to the many attractions nearby. Just 8mins into Caernarfon and 10/15mins to Bangor/Island of Anglesey, Llanberis is 5mins away. With exposed quartzite stone walls, log burning stove and Georgian style windows the cottage is the perfect antidote to escaping your routine for some well deserved ‘time out’ The nearest pub is 3miles away in Llanrug and makes for a nice stop on your way home, plenty more in town too with charming character among the castle walls or down at the marina. Along with all the grocery stores. Tawelfa is an eclectic mix of bygone times with contemporary touches and modern facilities. Snuggle up with a good book in front of the fire in winter or in the warmer months enjoy the sunshine from dawn until dusk in the charming outside space. The front provides the best spot to soak up the last rays and enjoy the evening warmth with exemplary sunset colours you can sit and unwind after a day well spent exploring Eryri (Snowdonia). Whatever the season you visit we hope you’ll love your stay in Tawelfa as much as our families do. Matthew Guest access Entire property except a rear private office/store room Other things to note Tawelfa is heated by modern electric radiant heaters along with log burning stove. The log burner is straightforward to use, however we will send you a quick video before you arrive to show you how to get a good fire going. There is also underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom which is controllable via a thermostat on the wall. Hot water is heated by solar thermal roof panels with a backup boost heater.
