The Sovereign pub was originally a Georgian dwelling house with stables, outhouses and small orchard at the rear. It became a beer-house in 1835. The property was called The Sovereign after the currency unit of the time. The space The Sovereign was the last public house of that name in Kent to be converted back to private use and it became two cottages in 2003. This comfortable, welcoming cottage, traditionally brick built with a pretty slate roof, is cosy in winter and cool and airy in summer. It has a twin attic room and an en-suite double bedroom, a large family bathroom, a fully equipped modern kitchen and a long living room (with double sofa bed) and dining room plus a high chair.
