It has been recently enlarged and renovated with original details kept where possible and replicated with the new construction. The floorplan has been modified to a more open-air design. House Layout and Use There is a full length covered front porch a short distance from the neighborhood sidewalk and street. The front door opens into the foyer, living room, dining room, and down the short hallway is the powder room. A food/beverage station is set up in the dining room. A large modern kitchen with sitting area and surrounded by windows is located in the rear (available when renting the entire house). The open "L" shaped stairs take you to the second floor where 2 of the rentable bedrooms are right at the top of the stairs along with the shared hall bath. Also on the second floor is the laundry room, an office nook and a third bedroom with it's own bathroom. Spiral stairs take you to the loft, which is the fourth bedroom available for renting which also shares the hall bath. The grounds are well maintained mature gardens, healthy lawn, brick patio, flagstone and brick walks and gravel driveway. The Neighborhood and Surrounding Areas The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of homes going back as far as the end of the 1800s, with most of the homes built in the early to mid 1900s. This is a quiet, charming neighborhood with sidewalks, streetlights, and mature trees. The Naval Academy stadium is at the north end of our street and we are just four houses down from the stadium. West Street is at the south end of our street and is the main corridor running from the historic district to the east and the main shopping distric to the west. There is a wide variety of shopping, restaurants and services along West Street as well. The neighborhood is the most centrally located area in Annapolis being just minutes from the historic district in one direction and major shopping district in the other while right among a full variety of shops and restaurants, as well as a brand-new library and the Navy stadium. There are paved walking paths both circling the stadium and through the neighborhood in a converted railroad right-of-way. Tawes Gardens, with a manmade but naturalized pond and gardens, are a block over from the stadium. Eastport and West Annapolis also very close, both are communities with interesting shops and charming homes. Guest access - Always available curbside street parking. - Entry via the front porch. - This private room is at the end of the second floor hallway with double doors. - Guests can enjoy access to most the house and grounds except the kitchen, basement and garage.- Common areas on the first floor include living room, dining room and powder room. - Common areas on the second floor include the hall bath, laundry room and work station. - Make use of books, magazines, smart TV and wifi. - Outside you can enjoy the garden and lawn space, large front porch, patio, grill and fire pit. - Take advantage of the food/beverage station is which includes coffee/tea cart, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, filtered water dispenser, K-cup coffee maker with selections of teas, coffees, cider, hot chocolate, and disposable tableware. During your stay I enjoy talking with guests and learning where they are from, why they've come to Annapolis and what they'd like to do while in town. I'm happy to share what I know about the town and events, make suggestions on where to eat, what to see, etc. I also perform live music around town and happy to let guests know where. I usually stay at the house and can often be found in the private kitchen/office located at the rear of the first floor, delineated by curtains. Feel free to get my attention if you know I'm in there and call or text me anytime. Other things to note - The neighborhood is quite safe, you will see a lot of walkers, joggers, dogs, bicyclists, etc. - Annapolis in general has always struggled with parking BUT this neighborhood has available street parking all the time - I will send a text prior to check-in with information related to check in, room location, phone number, WiFi, and other highlights from this listing - Stop by the Annapolis Visitors Center for information on historical buildings, events, tours, points of interest, places to eat, things to do, etc. - NOTE: - This is my room when it is not rented. A chest of drawers and two closets will have my belongings. - A chest of drawers, a closet and nightstands will be empty and available for your use. - I typically hang "Private" signs on them so you can easily determine what's available to you. Feel free to take them down.
