Rental unit in Tulum

The space STONE TREE TULUM is located in “Old Town” Tulum in the original Maya neighborhood. Be tourist or local as you like in this culturally rich and friendly place. Stone Tree is the first vacation rental in Tulum. It is a private property with a Main House and a Cottage. Within the high stone walls enclosing the property are a pool and a lush tropical garden. The houses are stone built and most furnishings, windows and doors are custom made by local Maya carpenters. The Main House sleeps 8, and the Cottage has 2 separate apartments. COTTAGE ALTA is the upper unit and sleeps 3. Cottage Baja is the lower unit and sleeps 3. They can be rented separately or together. (the Main House and Cottage Baja, are listed separately on airbnb) COTTAGE ALTA is a fully furnished studio room with a queen-size bed and a single bed. It has a full service kitchen w/full size refrigerator, 4 burner stove top and all you need to prepare meals. One bathroom and walk in closet. It faces the pool in the front patio area of the property above the pool. It has a small balcony and a stairway leading up to a roof terrace. All windows and doors are screened so mosquito nets are not needed. The thick stone walls, many large windows and ceiling fans provide excellent ventilation. It has an Air Conditioner. It is rarely needed or used. INCLUDED IN RENTAL RATE: Taxes. Wifi, Cable TV, Cleaning after 3rd night, 5 Gal. Jug of purified water that can be refilled across the street in a small store that also sells beer, alcohol, chips and ice. All cotton sheets and towels, beach towels and umbrellas. The three kitchens have blenders, coffee makers, and are fully equipped with all that is necessary to prepare your own meals. Tips: 10 pages of my tips based on 25 years in the area. OTHER SERVICES Air Conditioning: $7.USD per A/C per Night. The Main House has A/C in each bedroom and each of the Cottage Studio Rooms has A/C. Pay Soco as you use it/them during your stay. Catering: Meals prepared by Soco - Her 'mole' is to die for! Also highly recommend are her pre-hispanic vegeterian offerings. $5.-$6.USD per meal-per person-include tortillas,beans, rice and a fruit drink. Shopping ahead for your arrival: $15.USD + cost of groceries. Massage: $50.USD for one hour massage. We have an excellent Maya Massage person who will come to the house and give you a 1 Hr. Massage for $50.Usd. Laundry: $5.USD per load Additional House Cleaning Babysitting: $7.USD per hour for 1-2 children COTTAGE ALTA is private from the lower apartment, Cottage Baja and the Main House. You can enjoy your privacy or mingle w/other guests as you wish. The pool and front patio area are shared with other guests along with an outdoor shower for de-sanding after the beach, STONE TREE’S location is central yet secluded. It is 1 block from where the jungle begins, separating the town from the beaches and. 3 blocks from the main bus terminal, bike rentals, taxis, shops, restaurants, cultural center "Casa de la Cultura" and main town plaza. It is 10 blocks to a lovely bike path leading to the beaches, a 20-30 min. bike ride or 5-10 min. drive by car to the Beaches and the Tulum Ruins. I highly recommend walking about town in the evenings. I love the neighborhood. Where else can you go where you might pad outside the gate and see an elephant and camel being led down the road announcing the circus has come to town? There are all sorts of street venders selling from their tri-cycles. You could never leave the neighborhood and have the freshest of vegies, fruits, honey, spices, etc...or walk a few blocks to the Cultural Center and find a world famous opera singer performing in the outdoor theatre at no charge. Or you want a beer, some ice, chips, walk across the street to the little in-house store to get them, pack up a little cooler and head for the beach! The high walls surrounding the property create a very safe and private garden to return to after excursions. STONE TREE has been a site for weddings, family reunions, yoga groups, honeymoons and single travelers. It has always been a great pleasure for me when I am in Tulum to meet the guests. They come from all walks of life and all ages; backpackers, doctors, farmers, filmmakers, divers, anthropologists, teachers, and chefs. I continue to go back and forth from Tulum to Calif. My Manager Soco cares for guests very well. They love her. She will be there for you if and when you need assistance. I am prompt in answering emails and phone calls if guests have any particular questions before or during their stay.
