This cozy mountain home has large windows, with a wraparound deck for viewing of the Sangre De Cristo Mountain peaks, Wet Mountains, valley below, wildlife, and the dark sky at night. Outdoor deck furniture and natural area with picnic table/umbrella, and hammock for all the pleasures of eating and relaxing in nature. Walking distance, less than 1/2 mile to the National Forest trailheads that lead up to the Rainbow Trail. Pure Serenity! On this private one acre you will find yourself nestled away back in the trees of pine, aspen, and mountain oaks. Natural area to enjoy and try out a game of horseshoes or corn hole. Inside upstairs are two comfortable loft bedrooms with privacy curtains and a Jack and Jill bathroom. Main floor is a room off set from the big open family room with futon, desk, chair and privacy curtains if needing another space to sleep. Bathroom with shower. Extra towels, sheets, blankets and whitewash clothes for makeup removal. Many amenities and more. Comfy living room with leather recliners that rock and swivel. Couch is a queen hide abed. Sit and look up at the aspen ceilings and 30-foot fireplace. Smart tv and surround sound. Make some popcorn from the popcorn maker. Find the laundry room for DVD movies and games. Dining table seats six people and there are two bar stools at the island. You will find a full kitchen and in open pantry/laundry room laundry detergent and dryer sheets are provided. Grill cooking utensils, emergency kit and one of the three fire extinguishers can be found in this area as well. Shelves for guest to store their can goods etc. Guests will enter and exit via the front door. Keypad entry. Whole house is for the guests except the garage. It is not available to guests. Park in the driveway and to the right, below the driveway. The house sits on one-acre in a privacy setting. The road you turn onto is mine but right of access is given to my neighbor. Please do not block the road and enter through the gate. Only my guests are allowed beyond the gate. Be respectful of the other neighbor's properties and stay within the Black Bear property boundaries. These boundaries can be found in the Black Bear Guesthouse book under the Good Neighbor Policy. On your day of arrival my property manager will briefly stop by to be introduce himself. He will let you know he is available for any questions or help. I and my partner, he and I will always be available throughout your stay via text or phone. I provide maps of the trails of Sangre and Wet Mountains, info on activities, Colorado maps and information on Westcliffe's Dark Sky. Phone numbers will be provided once accepted. We will do our best to make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Located at the base of the Sangri De Cristo Mountains, at 8,700 feet. It's about location and the views of the Sangre peaks, the valley below and the Wet Mountains across. Surrounded by aspen, pine and scrub oaks. Known as Alpine Colony, and the Alpine Lodge. The Alpine Lodge serves a wonderful buffet for Sunday brunch. They have a small sports bar and outdoor tables to enjoy the view. The National Forest is right there with trailheads leading up to the Rainbow Trail. Westcliffe is just 15 minutes away for shopping, dining, golfing, and bowling. Check out the historical Jones Theater, concerts in the park, the Observatory and the Old Jail. There are so many different events throughout the peak seasons. Brochures provided at the house. Maps are provided of the area and of Colorado at the house. The heating system is electric baseboard heaters. They are on the main floor. Keep flammable materials, blankets, comforters, clothes, or bags away from the electric baseboards. There are space heaters available for the main and upstairs levels if needed during cooler seasonal months. A fan is available too. No fires in the wood burning stove during summer or when there are red flag warnings. "NO OPEN FLAMES", such as campfires, or fire pits allowed. No smoking, vaping, or recreational drugs in or on the property. No discharge of firearms is allowed. There will be no events allowed on the property and no third party. No use of the property for any activities that violates any criminal law or government regulation or to engage in any illegal activity while on the property. Such use of activity will result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of all fees.
