Description

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Nestled in a peaceful setting surrounded by farmland, The Old Dairy is near the village of Buckland Brewer, and perfectly placed for exploring the beautiful Devonshire coastline. Originally a cow shed, it is the oldest part of the house being several hundred years old. Attached to Beara Farmhouse, The Old Dairy has its own entrance, an archway through which the cows would enter, now offering a lovingly restored, luxurious, home away from home. The space A beautiful 300 year old stone cottage featuring flagstone flooring, lime washed walls, and oak beams, in a truly stunning location. Situated near the wonderful beaches of North Devon and the Jurassic coastline, there is beautiful countryside on your doorstep….The Old Dairy is situated in our private farm at the end of a country lane surrounded by fields with sheep and lambs. Cottage amenities The cottage has WiFi, is self-catering and non-smoking. It comprises of an oak framed open plan kitchen/dining/lounge affording wonderful views of the surrounding farmland. Occupying the whole of the first floor the space is perfect for watching the birds via the Juliet balcony, reading or simply enjoying the peace and quiet. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge (with small freezer compartment), dishwasher, microwave, and a dining table for four. The lounge has two comfortable sofas (Cotswold Company), and TV with both Sky and Netflix. There is complimentary tea, coffee & sugar. There is also washing up liquid, dish cloths, tea towels and dishwasher tablets provided for your stay. Salt, pepper & olive oil are also provided. The ground floor is dedicated to the two bedrooms and a bathroom which has a bath and over bath rainfall shower. The double bedroom has a free standing double wardrobe and a Cotswold Co double bed with an M&S pocket sprung mattress. There are two full size wooden framed Cotswold Co single beds in the further bedroom with memory foam pocket sprung hybrid mattresses from Dusk. There is also a double wardrobe in this room. We supply towels, bed linen, hand-wash, body-wash, shampoo and conditioner. The cottage has its own enclosed patio area with garden furniture “weather permitting” (to the side of the property, accessed from the front of the property). We’ve set aside one of our paddocks for fur babies to run and play! Other things to note Our farm is 1.5 miles from the village of Buckland Brewer which has a community shop and public house. The road to the village is unlit and has no pedestrian pathway. There is limited mobile/cell service so you are best connecting through the WiFi, and as the broadband service is outside of our control we are unable to absolutely guarantee availability or speed of service.
