Guest access Brauhaus 3 was actually a brewery more than 100 years ago, located directly on the historic race track it was as a resting station for travelers between Bamberg and Fulda. Today it is a wonderfully quiet home for vacationers. Brews are only occasionally hobby, on the first floor of the house, in order to preserve the old tradition a little. Other things to note We would like to offer you the opportunity to stay in our vacation homes with a good, ecological conscience as a guest and enjoy your precious free time with maximum comfort with minimal environmental pollution. So, what do we do to offer you a sustainable yet luxurious vacation? "Made in Germany" is a way of life for us as a carpenter family. The furniture is mostly designed and made by ourselves from local woods and natural materials. We try to avoid plastic as much as possible. The general equipment of the apartments is also made of regional or German production with high quality standards and long expiration. Yes, there are also air conditioning in the brewery 3, in all three apartments! It sounds like an appeal, but it isn't. Because at those times when the air conditioning is needed, the sun provides more than enough electricity directly for it via our photovoltaic systems! We already produce and store almost twice as much electricity here around the year as we use ourselves. Solar thermal also warms our water with solar energy. Charging columns for electric vehicles: Our wallbox is available to you at any time with two connections for loading, for CAR and bike. Waste separation for recycling: Both in the apartments and in the carport there are separate bins available for plastic, paper, glass, organic and residual waste. Smart energy saving: We work everywhere in the houses with energy-saving LED lighting and general paths are equipped with motion detectors so that no light will burn longer than necessary. Opening windows results in an automatic shut off of the heating. Heating with infrared heating: This also works with electricity here. Dedicated to where you need warmth right now, it makes a cozy feeling in an ecological way at lower temperatures than with usual convection heaters. Smart water saving: Water-saving toilet flushes have been installed here since now and then. The showers are large and modern, but do not have an oversized water flow. The garden and swimming pond are supplied with large rainwater cisterns. Swimming pond: A real biotope with crystal clear natural water! Cleaned with gravel, reed and organic filters. Nutrients are consumed by the lily pads and underwater plants. Here, dragonflies, watercans and many insects feel comfortable. The swallows come several times a day in the summer to dive in and drink water, and occasionally also feel comfortable here with Lurche, toads or a frog. For the frogs, if you croak very loudly at night, we kindly recommend a water nearby where many people are staying... Natural garden: Of course – who would have thought it – we generally prefer local plants. The grass around the swimming pond keeps an electric robotic mower short – during the day, of course, so that no-night animals don't get in danger. The short grass is important, so you cannot get in contact with ticks when dreaming in the meadow. To compensate, however, we also have proper meadows, which are traditionally mowed only twice a year and thus provide the bees with a welcome food ticket. You will also find pristine hedges, stone piles and dead wood as a sanctuary for many small wildlife. Over and over again, the majestic milanes and buzzards circle above us, a falconry couple usually nest in the immediate vicinity in the crowns of tall trees. Even bats feel comfortable with us, sometimes you can see them at dusk. Repeatable cosmetics: For shower gel and soap, we always experiment with various environmentally-friendly products to avoid single-use plastic bottles. Soda streamer for bubbling up tap water is available in all apartments. Ecological cleaning and washing: With our ecological detergent we can fertilize the plants after working with the cleaning water, no joke! We also use disinfectants, but only where they really need it. And then just so that they don't damage the sensitive bacteria in our own septic system. So that they can continue to do their work for clean wastewater from our vacation resort. Local products: When packing your welcome box, we prefer regional providers, buy in large buildings, and distribute them into small, reusable containers to avoid packaging and to avoid waste food if possible. On site you will get a tip or two for special, regional delicacies and for regional partners with whom we like to work together. The breakfast rolls hang in the reusable fabric bag on your apartment door in the morning. We're always hosting local artists, whether it's for art exhibitions or small sessions. Sustainable living and working as a family of carpenters with three adult children and a first grandchild have actually always been a labor of love, not only since the climate crisis and rising energy prices have been discussed.
