Guest access The Brauhaus 3 was actually a brewery more than 100 years ago, located directly on the historic Rennweg as a rest stop for travelers between Bamberg and Fulda. Today it is a wonderfully quiet home for holidaymakers. Brewed only occasionally as a hobby, on the ground floor of the house to preserve the old tradition a little bit. Other things to note We would like to offer you the opportunity to stay as a guest in our holiday homes with a good, ecological conscience and to enjoy your precious leisure time with maximum comfort and minimal environmental pollution. So what do we do to offer you sustainable yet luxurious holidays? "Made in Germany" is a way of life for us as a carpenter family. The furniture is largely made of local woods and natural materials designed and manufactured by ourselves. We try to avoid plastics as much as possible. The general equipment of the apartments is also from regional or German production with high quality standards and long durability. Yes, there are also air conditioning systems in the Brauhaus 3, in all three apartments! It sounds like a contradiction, but it is not. Because at those times when the air conditioning is needed, the sun supplies more than enough electricity directly through our photovoltaic systems! We now produce and store almost twice as much electricity as we consume ourselves around the year. Solar thermal energy also warms our water with solar energy. Charging stations for electric vehicles: Our wallbox is always available with two connections for charging, for CARS and bikes. Waste separation for recycling: Separate containers for plastic, paper, glass, organic and residual waste are available in both the apartments and the carport. Smart energy saving: We work all over the houses with energy-saving LED lighting technology and general paths are equipped with motion detectors so that no light burns longer than necessary. The opening of windows results in an automatic shutdown of the heating. Heating with infrared heat: This also works with electricity. Targeted where you need heat, it makes you feel cuddly in an ecological way at lower room temperatures than with ordinary recirculating air heaters. Smart water saving: Water-saving toilet flushes have been installed here since time immemorial. The showers are large and modern, but have no oversized water flow. The garden and swimming pond are supplied with large cisterns of rainwater. Swimming pond: A real biotope with crystal clear, natural water! Cleaned with gravel, reed and bio filters. Nutrients are consumed by the water lilies and underwater plants. Here dragonflies, water runners and many insects feel comfortable. The swallows come in the summer several times a day to dive and drink water, from time to time also feel comfortable here lurches, toads or a frog. The frogs, if you quack very loudly at night, we kindly recommend a water nearby, where many conspecifics stay... Natural garden: Of course – who would have thought – we basically prefer native plants. The grass around the swimming pond is kept short by an electric robotic mower – during the day, of course, so that nocturnal animals are not endangered. The short grass is important so that you cannot come into contact with ticks when dreaming in the meadow. To compensate, we also have real meadows, which are traditionally mowed only twice a year and thus provide the bees with a welcome menu. Untouched hedges, piles of stones and dead wood as a refuge for many small wild animals can also be found here. Again and again the majestic milans and buzzards circle over us, a falcon pair usually breeds in the immediate vicinity in the crowns of tall trees. Even bats feel comfortable with us, sometimes you can see them scurrying past at dusk. Refillable cosmetics: In the case of shower gel and soap, we experiment again and again with various, environmentally friendly products in order to avoid small disposable plastic bottles. Soda streamers for bubbling up tap water are available in all apartments. Ecological cleaning and washing: With our ecological cleaning agent we can fertilize the plants after working with the cleaning water, no joke! We also use disinfectants, but only where they are really needed. And then only so that they do not damage the sensitive bacteria in our own sewage treatment plant. So that they can continue to do their work for clean wastewater from our holiday resort. Regional products: When packing your welcome box, we prefer regional suppliers, buy in large containers and distribute in small, reusable containers to avoid packaging and to avoid wasting food as much as possible. On site you will get one or the other tip for special, regional treats and for regional partners with whom we like to work together. The breakfast rolls hang in the morning in the reusable cloth bag on your apartment door. Regional artists always get a podium with us, be it for art exhibitions or small sessions. And there are always new, environmentally friendly solutions! Living and working sustainably has always been a matter of the heart for us as a carpenter family with now three adult children and a first grandchild, not only since the climate crisis and rising energy prices have been discussed. But in everyday life, here in the village, where public transport does not arrive, electric cars have moved into our household for several years. And yes, quite honestly, we are quite a bit proud of our holiday homes here in the middle of the Haßberge nature park. To the fact that we have already been able to offer so many enthusiastic guests such a great time and continue to offer. And that with our work we can strengthen and promote this region, which is still unknown to many.
