Description

Watch airplanes and sunrises over the bay from the breezy view inside the house or on the balcony! Relax with your family or friends in our cozy, bright casa (with strong WiFi and AC), or venture out from this centrally located home. Just a short drive to the beach, downtown Dewey, or the airport– you'll enjoy being in one of the island's most accessible neighborhoods while having that "getaway" feel up high on the hill. The space The common areas of the house are bright, airy, and relatively open between the kitchen, dining area, and living room. The living room has a full bathroom near the back of the house, while the two bedrooms (located on the opposite side) have another full bathroom between them. The house is built on a steep hill and is not handicap accessible, as getting up to it involves climbing a few stairways. Guest access Guests have access to the upstairs unit (Casa Mañana) and upstairs outdoor area (bay view deck), as well as the driveway (please, no vehicles), and walkway leading up to the house. ON-STREET PARKING: Please note that parking for the property is on-street, you can park your vehicle in an open space along the side of the road. It’s usually easy to find a spot nearby, making it convenient for your stay. For safety reasons and to protect the property, please do not drive up or park on the steep driveway. This area is not designed for vehicle access, and using it could cause damage to your car or the property. Thank you for helping us keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone! Other things to note Before booking with us, if this is your first time visiting Culebra, we encourage you to do some research beforehand to set realistic expectations. While our main focus is to offer our guests comfortable lodging at the lowest rate possible, with as many amenities as we can provide in our units, please understand that we face limitations in acquiring many items on the island. Culebra is a pristine, undeveloped destination, offering a more rustic experience without the luxuries and amenities found in many other tourist spots. It’s perfect for travelers who appreciate and cherish the natural beauty of the land and sea, rather than seeking a luxurious getaway. We love hosting nature lovers, conscious travelers, and island adventurers. We celebrate simplicity, sustainability, and soul. Around the property (and all over Culebra island) you might see (and hear) chickens, roosters and other birds, horses, cats, iguanas, and you might spot white tail deer (mostly in the evenings). And although we fumigate the property and surrounding areas every month, some of the common insects and bugs you may encounter in the entire Culebra island are mosquitoes, flies, and Palmetto Bugs (they generally are not common inside homes, but if you leave doors open they are attracted to light and might help themselves in). There is a lot of nature surrounding the island of Culebra. -------------------------------- Parking: Please note that parking for the property is on-street, allowing you to park your vehicle in an open space on the side of the road. It's typically easy to find a spot nearby, making it convenient for your stay! ------------------------- Bath Towels & Linen Change Requests: As part of our commitment to sustainability and in consideration of the island's limited water resources, we provide one bath towel per guest. Please note that Culebra is a small island with no hotels, so we strive to offer the best experience possible while working within the unique limitations we face here. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping us preserve our environment. -------------------- Power Outages: NOTE:IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT POWER OUTAGES: Puerto Rico, including Culebra and Vieques, has been experiencing intermittent power outages due to ongoing repairs to the island's electrical grid. Culebra’s power comes from the main island via underwater cables, but the island has its own generators that activate during outages. Typically, outages are short-lived. Culebra’s Generators are turned on once the cause of the outage is determined for the safety of the residents. Culebra, due to its remote location approximately 17 miles off the mainland of Puerto Rico, offers a more tranquil, natural experience. While this is part of its charm, it also means that we may experience occasional power and water pressure fluctuations. These surges can sometimes cause damage to appliances such as water heaters, internet routers, air conditioners, televisions, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, coffee makers, televisions, and other similar equipment. Please note that due to the island’s isolation, repairs or replacements of such items may take several weeks or even months, which can affect the consistency of these amenities.
